Same problem on mac . . . is it right that i am using headphone splitters?

how can i download skins for mk2 dj con, i tried to download from the site but i get always get a line error.....pls help ?

I have the same problem and it has been killing me.

First of all, I was having trouble to install the HW properly - as it all the time wanted to update to the newer drivers, but crashed - not being able to update the firmware (I tried it so many times... it tells me that it cannot finish the installation of the driver v4, because the firmware needs to be updated first, then it starts updating it, then asks to reconnect the console, after which it tells again that that firmware needs to be updated).

Finally I was able to make it work with the original driver (by disconnecting internet), but have the problem where the headphones selection is not working. My console (mk2) has several headphone options: Deck A, B, mix, and split, but it seems that the switch is not working, as all the options give the same result - Split on output Deck A, and Deck A on output Deck B.

What can I do? The new driver is not really an answer (unless you have a hint how to update the firmware...

Same problem here. Both to Windows XP & Windows Vista.
 
i use virtual dj 5.2 with hercules mk2 dj console, from today, i had the same problem with headphones like you, i went almost mad...your help didn't work

my point: randomly i changed cables from console to mixer, just randomly output 1, input 4, different like in guide, silly, i know, but works
 
I would a Clean Install...remove evrything even from the registry to the folder in the program folder. Then run the lates driver HDJ08 and follow the promt

For both XP and Vista DON'T plug in the MK2 untill asked!!!

For Vista you might get a prompt to locate drivers? you wan to click that!! "Locate drivers" if you dont and chose cancel the install will be corrupted... hope this helps you?
 
i am learning to dj and starting using virtual dj software
i want to be able to have one song play out the master and another in my headphones
can i do this on this program or do i need a sound interface/mixer
 
Hey guys, I'm having the same problem, - can't hear eq changes in the headphones. I'm using VDJ6.0 and the 2010 drivers, and original DJ console.

yes, you can do that.
You need a soundcard with 2x2 outputs.

In the virtual DJ output settings - makesure you have headphones selected.
 
Hey - I've found out what the problem is. Nothing to do with the controller - it's VDJ - you have to be a registered user to enable eqing in headphones.
 
guys same problem hear.....all was ok.....i changed from windows to mac....i have the latest drivers and latest virtual dj version!when i try to change the deck i hear in my headphones there are problems!it randomly does watt ever it wants!i tried key mapping,changing sound setup in config,i went back to firmware settings,i unistalled and installed again....but nothing....any solution because i am ready to break them all!

My stuff is:
mac os X
Dj console mk2
virtual dj 6
 
Bought the Hercules Mk2 with Traktor LE. Preferred Virtual DJ Basic so bought that. Downloaded the drivers for Hercules Mk2. I am unable to resolve 2 problems.

1) Hercules Mk 2 doesnt work. No knobs or sliders move either VDJ or Traktor. Only the Audio source light can switch on and off, nothing else. Is the unit faulty? Traktor recognises that it is plugged in but not VDJ.

2) I cannot get VDJ to recognise iTunes. In the browser, there is no iTunes logo. I have to go through my computer until i come across folders that my music has been organised into. After a few clicks, i get to the mp3 format. On my other PC, iTunes is there and the tracks come out as playlists. I am storing my iTunes media on an external HD. How can i get iTunes icon to come up in the VDJ browser.

Would appreciate your help.

Sorry, VirtualDJ Basic does not support any external MIDI controllers such as the Hercules MK2. It is for mixing using your mouse and keyboard only.

This is clearly stated on the product purchase page http://www.virtualdj.com/products/basic.html and the product comparison page http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html

To use external controllers, you will need to upgrade to VirtualDJ Professional. VirtualDJ Basic and Pro are the same except for the lack of MIDI controller, timecode and full screen video support in Basic.

iTunes will only work in the current version if your library is in the default location (My Music\iTunes) It is possible to edit the location via the Windows registry but this is not recommended. Other locations such as an external hard disk should be supported in a future version of VirtualDJ.

Thank you for your reply. I obviously confused an external mixer with my Hercules Midi Controller. The price for VDJ Pro is too much considering im only a part-time DJ. Do you have any sort of finance options. Am i not able to download a trila version of pro to see how the Hercules works with it?
I can not understand why my desktop VDJ can read itunes when again, the itunes media is stored on an external HD.
Can you tell me when VDJ will be able to support this?

I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the headphone select button to function properly on my mk2. I am running vdj pro recently upgraded to v.7. can't get sound from deck a/b. mix plays both songs both ears split plays both or sometimes one song in just one ear.

Did you make sure the audio configuration is correctly set ?

- Input : None

- Output(s): Headphone > Master: Chan 1&2 / Headphone: Chan 3&4

-Soundcard: DJ Console Mk2
