My PC crashed. Put a new drive in and reinstall the software.
I'm Using Virtual DJ Proffesional with the DJ console.
I Cant use the headphones on the console.
When I switch between deck a and b I cant hear any thing, when i put the headphone selector to mix
I hear the music, but I cant hear the decks seperately.
When I use the console ver. it works fine.
Any help would be nice.

What is the exact version / revision of the pro software are you using?

You should register your pro product to take advantage of upgrades and other goodies.

All you have to do is set the ouputs from VDJ correctly. This is done by pressing config and then going to the first tab: (The options below refer to the drop down image menus)

Leave the first option as is, the next option - change to the image with both the headphones and the speaker, then the in the option third select the Console

(Your second option probably shows a mixer - this MUST show the headphones and speaker)

Also go to one of the other tabs (I think remote control) and select the Hercules Console

Hope that this helped

Yeah, I have the same problem. I just bought the Hercules Console off ebay and I can only get mix and split to work over headphones but they are dependent on the crossfader so I can't use it to preview. I set it up like you said but no dice. I will probably just play with it some more.

What version are you using??

Did you ever fix this problem? I am having the same issue. Have the exact same setup, and am using the most recent version of VDJ just downloaded. The headphones work with the old version of VDJ that came with the Hercules MK2, but not with the new version. Has anyone figured this issue out yet? Thanks.

Make sure you have your output set to headphones and speaker.

Go to hercules.com and update your drivers to the 08 version.

Thank you so much! The upgrade to the 08 drivers worked. What a relief. This forum is great.

Glad you got it sorted:)

I have the same problem. I'm using Windows XP.

I have installed the new Hercules DJ MK2 drivers - About:
Package: 1.HDJS.2008
Firmware: 1.3.6.13
Driver: 3.8.0.0
DJ Api: 2.0.14.17
CPL: 2.0.1.7.

With VDJ v5.0.6 i have no problems, but with the latest v5.0.7 i cannot use the Headphones Selection - Deck A and Deck B.

I reinstalled everything, no way...
have someone the v5.0.7 version succesfully installed and use the Deck A and Deck B selection on the MK2 Console ?

I fixed the problem:
config->Soundkarten
Input: None
Output: Headphones
Soundcards: 4.1 Card oder 5.1 Card
Souncard: Hercules DJ Console MK2
Outputchannels: Master: Front Output/Headphones: Rear Output

and it works with VDJ v5.0.7 and Hercules: 1.HDJS.2008

I had the same problem with VDJ5.07 and Hercules 1.HDJS.2008 with the Headphones not working when switching in auto Headphones mode. I used the above settings and works great! Thanks!

Input: None
Output: Headphones
Soundcards: 4.1 Card oder 5.1 Card
Souncard: Hercules DJ Console MK2
Outputchannels: Master: Front Output/Headphones: Rear Output

I have a similar problem. When I turn the earphone knob to hear both channels same time ( "a deck playing in each ear").... sometimes it works and then too often it doesn't... this hinders me from listenning to the next tune to be mixed. Absolutely frustrating... cause then I have to go over to visual mixing ( using the sound graph - which is not an exact sience and often make a hash with the mix.. !!!#$%^&^^%%*@
Also: when I turn the knob that switches the channels on the headphones the exact same happens to my live speakers.... so now I'm left with only visual mixing !@*$%#$#$%$% Dogging beer botlles is another extra I had too learn using Hercules MK2 with virtual dj....!$%&$%@#
I run on vista and have downloaded new drivers etc etc etc etc..@~#%&%&&$%&^%^*#$%&@#........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STILL NO FREEK"N JOY... I'm having second thoughts 'bout this equipment !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea. You guessed it. My Headphones are not working on Deck A/B of the Hercules MK2. I have version VJ 5.07 and a New MK2 with the latest driver.
I have tried --None/headphones/MK2/ Master 1/2 Headphones 3/4. I have tried---None/Headphones/ Card 4.1 Mk2 Master 1/2 Headphones 3/4. At best I can hear in decks A/B....But, am I the only one that has noticed that the EQs. have no affect in the cue. What good is that? So, is it the drivers of the MK2 or the New VJ software? I am not going back to VJ 3.4 just because. I owned a MK2 in 2006. It worked fine. This is my second unit. Does anyone really know what the problem is????????????????

This fix DOES NOT work:
Input: None
Output: Headphones
Soundcards: 4.1 Card oder 5.1 Card
Souncard: Hercules DJ Console MK2
Outputchannels: Master: Front Output/Headphones: Rear Output

The sound will come through Deck A/B --BUT, the EQs have no affect in the headphones!!! Am I missing something?

Why don't you download and install 5.1 or even the latest version 5.2, this might cure your problem.

When using just a laptop with virtual dj pro 5 and numark cd mix 2, how can I listen 2 both decks on computer. Right now I can only listen to the deck that is playing on virtual dj. Thanks

i have 5.1 and the problem still persits.I think the firmware is faulty and hercules should either resolve it or replace all the units that this problem has because we have spent are hard earned money on this product and this is happening.

Where did u get 5.1 from as we are currently on 5.2?? I run the MK2 flawlessly with VDJ, if you arent using the demo I suggest you try it and if you like it then please purchase VDJ and support the development of this fine program.

Hello moadeeb,

1) DJ Console Mk2 firmware can be upgraded by software, that is why it is so often mentionned you must upgrade to last drivers package 2008_HDJS_3 http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=2&fid=28&pid=177&cid=1.

2) When you write

you should detail:
- your computer enviroment (Mac OS 10.4, Mac OS 10.5, Windows XP, Windows Vista)
- your DJ Console Mk2 configuration (what is written in DJ Console Mk2 about panel?)
- your audio mode (WDM or ASIO?)
- your VirtualDJ configuration (are you in VirtualDJ Pro or in VirtualDJ Demo version?)
- your sound configuration in VirtualDJ Pro (in VirtualDJ Pro > Config > Sound Setup.
Have you set
- "Headphones" in the Outputs field,
- "DJ Console Mk2" in the Sound Card field,
- "Master: Chan 1&2 / Headphones: Chan 3&4" in the Output channels?
