From the movie The Waterboy Tayla...

never seen it, dont watch much movies or tv cant hold my attention span, rather be doing something else than sitting on my arse watching actors in a make believe world, sorry just me, so could you explain please

Tayla

@ Tayla: synopsis of The Waterboy Adam Sandler plays a person of limited metal abilities, and who lives in the swamps around New Orleans, and is the waterboy for the local university's football ( American football) team. After a freak out at practice one day he is placed on the team without the knowledge of his mother, played by Kathy Bates. The line in question is a quote her character makes concerning football. Everything she dis-approves of is the work of the devil. I hope that helps, it really looses something in the translation, it has some very funny moments in it if you like lowbrow slapstick humor. Of which I happen to be a fan. When my ex-wife was in labor we brought Three Stooges videos with us to watch while we waited for my girls to be delivered.....the nurses and doctors loved it.

Good film I may add.

@ Tayla - yeah.. what he said.

sidebar for teary - with my ex wife - 1st child labor while watching Robin Williams live at the Met, 2nd labor while watching Whoopi Goldberg in The Color Purple. standing joke after that was next labor had to be while watching a Billy Crystal flick.

and back on topic.
fer cryin out loud.. its just a game. doesnt even have cheerleaders to drool over.

thanks terry

your not a geordie wildcountry and no disrespect but you dont understand, from the cradle to the grave we eat, drink and sleep football nothing else matters, throughout the uk we are known as the most passionate football supporters around

"some people think this game is a matter of life and death, its much more important than that"...

or, "there are those who say maybe I should forget about football. Maybe I should forget about breathing"

two fantastic quotes, a little understated i grant you but thats how it is

Tayla

@ tayla....
NOT only in the U.K.........we(Africans) seem to think so too, what with the African Cup of Nations coming, and the Euro in the summer, I've been saving up for a 64 inch plasma and u definitely know my red devils r putting the hammer on the toons on Saturday!..

Same here Tayla.....only its American football. My father died on my birthday five years ago, late in the afternoon...we spent the early afternoon/late morning watching the Chicago Bears playing a game against the New Orleans Saints, which the beloved lost 29-23. He died about three hours after the game ended but I still have that day with him. We watched football a lot, my dad and I, so its on our blood here too Tayla......just not the same game.

thats a nice but sad story bro.

Sorry to hear that TearEmUp.

@ terry

such a loss for you terry but also nice heart warming memories for you also, wish i had those, got a few from my early childhood but not many, thats why i spend as much time as i can with my kids, you just never know how much time we got and sometimes you do, thats why everyone should keep loved ones close...

enough of the maudlin, @ spinna, SHEARER? ALAN BLOODY SHEARER i hope not, but it might get it out of the systems of some other fans before they finally sack him and realise he is only human after all, they think he will be another keegan, no chance. shearer caused untold strife in the dressing room that you never read in the press and his so self centred opinionated mentality he really believes he is the next messiah, (the wanker) he was a great player, i think he's scared to take the job on just in case he bursts his own bubble

little harry kneecap? could get a job as a garden gnome, lol, nah hope not anyway has'nt won nothing never will, although he's not doing to bad at portsmouth i think he's a bit in the numb nuts mould of manager

jose is the one for me, like his style which will go down well with us supporters and i like his banter on interviews, same sense of humour as me, loves taking the pi$$, for some reason and i don't think its football related the wife would like him at newcastle too, if not him why not a bit of lippy...lol

8 months isn't enough time to take over a club...how many managers in the premiership have been sacked already? 7? 8? it's crazy!

here here...... I'm a Liverpool fan myself, but Sam shouldve been given a year to sort them out..... Besides, it's Newcastle......

@ pedster

8 months is enough time, you don't need a crystal ball to see where we were heading, we could'nt win a game against any of the expected relegation teams and the way sam had us playing we even made them look like great teams, christ we are the only team to get beaten by derby and their fate is a forgone conclusion their bottom and out since the beginning of the season,

numb nuts had to go or we would have been looking for a second rate manager to get us BACK into the premiership because a top class one wouldn't touch us in the championship ... lol

Tayla

harry bloody redknapp, oh god please no, pedster i'm blaming this on you, you've never liked us since you beat us 4-3, what a scoreline to live down, you misrable scouse s..., just wait until tomorrow, 5 - 0 to man u, that'll put a smile on the other side of your face

would ave' said, you know thats all tongue in cheek put someone would have taken afence, and the bloody garden gate, if they were from l'pool, know what i mean our kid, looks like jose comin your way unless the toon stump up 1 mill instead of the 3 mill for redknapp, typical toon logic even with a southerner owner, if redknapp is appointed i'm gonna support accrington stanley and thats another friggin scouse team, sod it
i'm on the milk

Tayla

hehe.. tayla,, the clock is tickin to countdown;)
