well you all know my feelings about sam, excuse after excuse, sven went to man city same time as sam came to us and look where they are and the style of football, sven plays his men to their strengths, i thought sam was gonna end up putting n'zogbia in goal lol
i dont want shearer but we probably end up with him until the end of the season then sack him and then bring in jose who cant work in the prem until then anyway, at least that way the shearer followers will have got it out of their system and then we can move on with proper management and investment
knew we would get rid of numb nuts when ashley said there would'nt be any big buys until the summer... he's my man

I think Big Sam wasn't given enough time, most managers aren't.
Sir Alex had a terrible 1st season at Utd, look at what happened afterwards!
When i play Football Manager (formally Champ Manager) it takes me at least 2 or 3 seasons before i feel like i've started to stamp my impression on the club.

if you read between the lines in the press lately jose is on his way back to the prem to a club that has large fan base and has been promised a large kitty for team builing and a lucrative contract and thats coming from his camp leaked to the press, he can't come any sooner because of his contract with chelsea, not many prem clubs match the above criteria, liverpool probably come into that reckoning as well, if its not him it will be a high profile manager from the continent and i'm not being "lippy" hehe
getting back to sam, why buy a 6 million wonder left back and not even play him, stick your best left winger who is ten stone wet through in his place, bring your best right winger to the left wing, put your highest goal scoring centre forward on the right wing put another centre forward you got from man u and stick him in centre back, leave your best creative midfielder on the bench and stick in two holding midfielders there instead, make sure no one go's past the centre circle and boot the ball up to a centre forward who is only five foot four inches and is surrounded by six foot four inch opposing centre halfs, get his game plan, were going no where
whose the only team beatin' by derby and when they have the return match at st james sam sets the team out for a draw, sams fantastic game plan in action again
the media are slating the toon army why? we only want a team and manager that shows desire and the will to win a game, give us that and we go home happy even if we do get beat, you don't show the effort to win a game and you certainly will get it in the ear from us, after all we are paying the wages of these men
i feel so sorry for numb nuts he was on a four year contract at three and a half million quid a year, he could'nt care a shite bout' newcastle as long as the remaining money of the contract is in his bank account, i bet his pride is'nt even hurting. lets face it he even made souness and daglish look good and if he's got a pro license it should be taking away under the trade discription act
we may even survive the slaughter at old trafford at the weekend now he's gone, i bet the team plays with guts as well

Seriously though, i'm a huge footy fan, but i obviously don't study the Toon Army as close you.
Still, i think Big Sam inherited an average squad, you got some good players, but overall, average. (IMO)
The team were under acheiving when he took over, and they continued to do so in his reign.
With the restrictions of the transfer window, there is only so much a manager can do if the team isn't peforming.
His record with Bolton was impressive, with Newcastle he inherited a average squad which was underachieving, put the two together and you have a team hovering above relegation positions. A drastic situation calls for drastic measures, thats what Big Sam tried.... didn't work though.
I don't think you can judge a manager until after two full seasons (including 2 summer transfer windows).
Bit like as a DJ, if you inherited a poor selection of Tunes (with no access to your own), not matter how good a DJ you are, no matter how much you mix it up, you're probably gonna do a poor set , but given time and allowed to gradually add your own tunes your audio catalogue, things would improve over time
