people do not dance to video but its great for a lounge

video is great for a private gigs but it is not big in the majority of clubs in my dj scene

what does GTFO mean LOL

I don't think Ignorance is bliss in this case, coz some of these people r really missing out in their ignorance and its working to their disadvantage.....I'm loving this software, only thing I hope for in the next release is better tracking while backspinning on the timecodes..I use little stickers and sometimes after a couple of quick backspins, the point shifts some..

Where i dj we do not use video too much mostly moble dj use video where i dj i hope that does not make us ignorant

Everybody say "Hi" to the Serato users that came to this thread;) hehe

Reason is that its crossposted at SSL forum :)

Take their "hate" with a large grain of salt;)

Merry Xmas though to all

what? what does nike mean?

I have been in Vegas a year already and EVERY nightclub here is starting to gear toward some video element. It is sought after by club owners and management and it does help out in a lounge or large nightclub no matter the size or atmosphere. Not everyone who enters a nightclub dances... this gives those spectators something to view other than the decor and each other. people who are dancing watch the videos and sometime mimic the moves they see. It is a conversation piece and novelty when playing older rare videos and even custom produced edits and remixes. It keeps people there drinking and spending money... bottom line...

As far as a DJ's artistic approach... it helps out getting more creative with your shows whether you are a scratch DJ or not. I have been doing 3 different venues here in Vegas doing 100% video and everyone loves it!! the fact that not everyone can do it or has the library to boot makes it more in demand.

For those serato users on this forum who seem to have problems typing correct grammar or spelling and bash VDJ... one ... get back in school.. two.. do your homework. Each product has their strengths and weaknesses. To come and just speak in negative tones about a product you may have had a bad early experience with doesn't really get any valid point across. If you actually have information regarding some of your troubles and have facts to use with it then a proper debate may be at hand.

So what does a virtual teamer mean

no offense but I have to keep re-reading what you are saying out loud to just understand what you are saying.

I was in Houston Texas originally and it was video DJ-ing in nightclubs was growing there as well before I left. Almost all the major nightclubs had screens & pioneer DVJ's.

Unless you embrace it now it will pass you up and it could limit your gigs and longevity.

Video mixing isnt hot everywhere yet.. ;) but I bet it will be soon...

Video download/DVD services for DJs are poping up like mad, giving djs huge access to videos.
VirtualDJ, Numark VV/Cue, PCDJ VJ and SSL does video know, plus Pioneer hardware etc.
Everything is lined up for the DJ to start doin it...

Its just a matter of time before you local club owners will start asking the djs to mix videos on them huge LCD's in the club, rather than run crap bar commercials ;)

Videos are comming, not like a revolution take-over, but slowly eating itself into the market.
Adding more and more djs to it, and clubs, by the day...

:)

The key word you cat's use is it is growing but me i do not need video i got hell of skills on my side

but to each's own i still think its overrated

Dj -in-norway what does a teamer mean

Thats exactly it.. its a choice ;)

I dont mix much videos either... I'm first of all audio mixing dj, and lovin it ;)

Not all will embrace videos, and not all have to either... Lots of venues video mixing aint right.
The larger commercial clubs, it can be right... but not everywhere.

And for lots, video will never be something to even consider :)

Its fun to mix though... I do lots of video mixing at home and private gigs.. Scratchin videos on a turntable is just pure fun :)
But in many settings, just that..

:)
