Topic: pops and clicks with VMS4 - Page: 1

由于该帖子的部分内容已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

i recently picked one up and have been putting it through the ringer before the 30 day return policy. Mic issue got sorted with a transformer (now i'm just waiting on mine from AA)most everything else works as it should so far. i have noticed i get random pops and clicks during playback of some videos. Its not on every video but enough for me to swap out my VMS4 at 11:20 on NYE.

i have used it on my own sound system without any major sound problems. the pops and clicks i heard where at a club using their system. its my regular friday spot and the sound system is def powerful so i don't understand why i have the issue. i ran the master outs at -4dbl and my pot volumes around 0dbl as per the manual.

i am running an Dell Mobile Precision Work Station with an i5 and 4 gigs of ram, windows xp pro, using VDJ Pro with a CDJ for TC and the VMS4 for sound/midi/mixer. sound came out of VMS4 XLR's into a channel on a DJM600 (clubs mixer) levels on the DJM we're hitting red on the leds so it was getting the power i should. i don't have ANY sound or latency issues running my korg zero4 via firewire.

I also noticed crackling when i would have the software (VDJ) move the pitch to zero automatically. as it moved from + or - it would crackle a bit until it was done moving?

Now it did it tonight with my own sound system that it sounded fine on last week.

Any ideas or help would be GREAT!

Dell laptops are notorious for problems with latency. Have you ran the DPC latency checker to see where the spokes are happening?

Keith

its not the dell i have been using it with my korg zero 4 via firewire for midi, sound card and mixer with no latency issues. i tried adjusting the altency up and down with no change. of course tough to do live in the club but i moved it around anyway.

ok so after testing this morning i noticed i can get it to replicate INSTANTLY once i go from no TC to one TC control. its as if the sound card can't handle the info coming in from the cdj at the same time as music going out. i have the newest firmware 3.11 in the VMS4 when it does pop/crackle again i'm ALL GREEN with DPC Latency checker.

i have tried going from 2ms to 27 ms in ASIO config and it doesn't help much. still crackling and popping.

so this leads me to believe its hardware or more likely a driver issue.

after more test im certain it has to do with either the vms4 audio driver or sound card itself. as soon as i select no tc in setup the crackles go away. while the same track is playing i can go back and forth between the two settings and as soon after i switch to TC i get the pops and crackles. i have tried ASIO4ALL 2.9 like suggested on the AA board but even after adjusting the settings i could get it better but it always would come back.

am i doing something wrong? can ANYONE else with a vms4 replicate this?

ok so after further test i can get it to crackle/pop on 2 difference laptops both well above system specs for the VMS4 and VDJ Pro almost on cue. i got it to also do it on a netbook i use for backup. it wasn't as bad but there.

running it with VDJ LE i didn't notice the crackles as often or as bad but they are there none the less.

its funny it didn't do this the first 7 or so days of testing now i can't get rid of it. i haven't made any changes on my gig machine so i'm a bit stumped.

also during testing i was monitoring my latency via DPC Latency checker and it was all green unless i was switching settings or something but this is expected since i'm changing settings.

I am having the same issue. I have onlly tried it on my laptop, no others. but never had this issue before. I'm running a toshiba core i3 with 4gb ram. Mt DPC checker is almost all green. during the auto pitch change is when it is most noticable

and its only happening to you when using TC right? what if you run it full midi mode no TC sounds good right?

Woooo Hoooooo!

did you have sound issues with TC control? that is the problem i am having. ONLY when i use 4 in 4 out and TC control.

I'm Having The Popping/Clicking Noise(Like Latency) Only When I Record. The Out Put From The VMS4 Is Fine...Its Only When I Listen To The Recorded Mix That I Hear This.

I'm Using The Advance Settings: Deck 1-->ADJ ASIO-->Output 1&2
Deck 2-->ADJ ASIO-->Output 3&4
Record Loopback-->SB Live! 24bit-->Output 1&2
(My Soundcard On My Computer)

Is There Any Other Steps That I'm Not Taking To Ensure Quality Recording Sound?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

sorry i have no clue. i haven't even tried to record yet. i wouldn't use the same laptop to do so anyway. if i'm on location i would use my backup laptop if i'm in the studio i would use my recording tower.

i only seem to get the noise during TC use.

NO Change pops and crackles the INSTANT i select Timecode in the sound setup. if i turn TC off it INSTANTLY goes away? is this a VDJ or VMS4 issue? can someone try to replicate this with TC?

ok this is really getting to me. i got it working fine on windows 7 with TC no pops or crackles using VDJ 6.1 i went back to my xp partition and seen that i was using version 6.1.1 so i went back to my windows 7 partition and installed 6.1.1 and BAMM! crackles and pops.

how can i whip VDJ 6.1.1 totally from my windows 7 partition and install 6.1 back to see if the problem is solved by down grading my vdj version?

after following instructions i totally removed VDJ from my system then reinstalled it. the crackles are still there using TC and the VMS4 with VDJ 6.1 installed. it worked before with 6.1 installed and as soon as i update to 6.1.1 crackles. what else can i try, do to get it back to 6.1?

Its very weird since the differences between ver 6.1 and 6.1.1 have nothing to do with TC and sound. But if 6.1 works for you and you dont need 4 decks, then stick with 6.1 and wait for an update from AA or VDJ.

thats the problem it worked but once i updated to 6.1.1 it happened again but when i went back to 6.1 it was still there. are you using yours with TC?

can ANYONE using time code with no issues please tell me your settings? this is killing me. it's the only thing that doesn't work well for me with the unit.

Why don't you use the Record Loopback for recording ? Just enter Record Loopback in the Advanced Config and select the VMS.

Greets, Heiko

what are you talking about? record loop back? i never said ANYTHING about recording. i wouldn't use the same machine im djing with to record EVER thats why i have multiple laptops. i'm talking about normal RC play and pops/clicks.
