I have been on other forums and hands down, by far...VDJ HAS THE BEST FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

N.I., Serato, heck...All of em suck compared to this forum.

This forum is laid out better, is more descriptive, more helpful, easier to follow, more polite, less haters.

I just wish that the search would return to how it used to be. As great as these boards are, finding a old post or thread can be a pain in the a$$.

I personally think its the users that make the quality of a forum.

Agreed on the searches however, will bring that up at our next staff meeting.

never ceases to amaze me but why is it nlu's can find a dead and buried post from over three years ago and i can't even find my tooth brush...

Evening all, lol

It was at one time but it has gone down hill in the last year or so IMO, and many would agree. You can't have a laugh and joke with your fellow DJ's now in the General without someone raising the posts, which is a big shame!!!!
 
Yes, nice easy layout and i like the home page, profile, download centre etc too

I would say that is a matter of opinion, Jimmy. What I noticed was happening is the "jokes" would end up hi-jacking a thread. It happened to me several times. That is frustrating and rude to the original poster who had a legitmate question/concern. I, for one, am glad they tightened the reigns.

When the quality of the posts deteriorates to the point of new and focussed users not being able to relate to the subject matter, it has gone too far.
That was the problem that drew enough attention that we had to step in.

Specifically, regulars treating our forum like their my space page discussing their private lives and matters.
People come here for help, information and entertainment, but they all have to be able to relate to the thread, otherwise it becomes private communication that does not belong here.
The last thing we want to do is moderate our members, so a policy had to be put in place to make if fair to everybody and raise the quality of the posts and threads back to what it used to be.
So to keep those threads from being raised or moderated, this was the only option.

We hope you all understand.

And to tie this to the topic of this thread, this is what we hope to maintain is the best forum of them all in doing so.

Without doubt, the most friendly and thankfully SNOB FREE forum I have ever registered with.

Genuine help is never far away and you can still have a laugh.

So many people contribute in all areas here it gets my vote every time.

Daz, can you direct me to that Snobby forum? I love busting the balls of those who think they are a bigger smart ass than me. :-)

Renee, So where is that video may I ask......?

On the subject of snob forums, it is refresing to see that here in VDJ land, we are able to welcome all walks of this biz, whether its club djs, scratch dj's, wedding djs, party dj's or bedroom djs.
That just doesn't happen in other forums that I have seen, not to mention the international melting pot that brings dj's even from opposing or warring countries together with the differences set asside.

Kinda cool actually, governments should take a lesson from us.

I can't be that sensible, it would just be wrong.

Its the people on this forum that make it and it takes all sorts.

Couple of points here:

Forums: Absolutely agree. Best forums around. Great advice, input, suggestions, etc. Some great info available here overall.

Search: Yep, needs work. Glad this is going to be tabled at the next team meeting. I'm sure this will yield positive results that will help all.

Absolutely agree there are times when threads get way off topic and intervention is needed. No doubt about that in my mind!

I think there was a suggestion some time back that there should be a forum where some of the light-hearted or personal stuff can take place (a Twilight Zone or Midnight Café type of thing) without offending anyone. I know there's a General forum, but this tends to be a fairly serious place even if it's a general forum.

Think the Enter At Your Own Risk type of forum would be useful. Level it high enough so you don't get the spam-artists working it, but don't level it too high or I won't have access :-). Another suggestion to be tabled at the next team meeting perhaps?
 
Yep for sure the friendliest group of DJs on the net. I get pretty frustrated with people on the Serato forums sometimes. I've never personally had an issues there but the way they flame each other sometimes is beyond ridiculous.

Pioneer forums are good too, sometimes there are a few snobs that can't get enough of themselves but for the most part things are cool. DJ Forums, a little of both snobs and flamer/haters... the other forums a little of both too.


VDJ forums are hands-down the coolest bunch of cats from around the world!

i personally think the serato forums are dope.

i love going there and finding hidden musicly treasures but vdj is not bad either
 
i just wanted to say that without theese forums and the people who use them i myself would have been lost.the advice the help has been and continues to be a lifesaver for us all.would be cool to have a pop up window for the likes of live chat for djs to interact and maybe then there wouldnt be so many posts to go through and the posts would be a lot easier to get help ie sometimes (i myself included) have went off the topic which is posted.by and far ahead of the rest theese forums are the best and hopefully continues
