Just got a Hercuules DJControl Inpulse 500 and using it to broadcast to Twitch through Virtual DJ. When I did the broadcast to Twitch, the mic is not being picked up during the broadcast. Music sounds great though, but can't figure out why the mic can't be heard on Twitch. Anyone else encounter this and know of a fix?

A lot of controllers send their mic input straight to master output. In that case it never reaches the laptop so it then can't be recorded or broadcasted

There's a setting in the config that you need to change.

From the setup guide:
When the HardwareMicAux setting is set to No , the MIC and AUX Inputs are routed to the Input of the USB Audio interface of the device. In this case, the signal of these inputs is recorded along with your mix, and the MIC and/or LINE/AUX buttons in VirtualDJ GUI will affect the inputs.

Please
- Make sure the drivers 2020.HDJS.1 are installed from https://support.hercules.com/en/product/djcontrolinpulse500-en/ . If you use an older version of the driver (driver can update firmware too) , the following may not be working as expected.
- After opening VirtualDJ, goto Settings->OPTIONS tab->CONTROLLER sub-category and set the HCINP500- HardwareMicAux setting to No.
- Make sure you have a mic input in your Audio Setup pointing the Chans 1,2 of the Hercules ASIO as shown in the manual https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/hercules/inpulse500/setup.html
- You need to turn on the MIC from the MASTER Panel of VDJ skin, in order to enable the mic input. This is probably the step you missed ?
- The MIC VOL knob on your Inp 500 is at an appropriate level Nr. 19 https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/hercules/inpulse500/mixer.html . Note that this knob is a hardware control, meaning that it wont control the Mic Volume of VirtualDJ mixer (which still needs to be at maximum value).

With the above, you should be able to record and broadcast Mic along with your mix, same as i can here (just tested)

You're right I forgot to tell the mic on in the master settings, you're a life saver, that fixed the issue. Much appreciation!
