i recently left my laptop into a well renowned pc shop to upgrade my hardrive for a bigger gb.they say the cannot mirror my software only my files to the new drive.does anyone know why and if this can be done.

There are tools to clone hard drives, like norton ghost, and more.
They can clone your old drive to the new, and nothing will happen wen you boot up.
I do a few of clones and it work perfect.

ive just been in shop and they said i have one or two bad sectors on my drive and that is why they cannot cloine it.i will have to save my files and just download my software again is this right

If you have bad sectors, it's really a problem.
Anyway, tell them to try to clone the drive.
They can try, if it works, you're safe, if not, there is only one way, what they told you.

I would recommend a product called Drive Clone by Farstone technologies. It is simple and clean.
Usually the ability to create the image even with bad sectors is a function of the cloning software.

Yes, you can download your copy of VDJ at any time via this site. What you can do (or they) is just backup your VirtualDJ folder in My Documents or Users in Vista and all the databases you used so you will not lose your scanning info.

my advice is to copy everything you need off it at the end of the day you can always get the software but never your own files! and if you cant copy them, then they r lost forever im afraid :( i hope it goes alrite n keep us posted what happens.

thanks guys.goina take the plunge and just save my xml vjd files and my audio and video files to external drive.just love my vjd so much wana use it forever.so i can download vdj anytime from my download site
