Hey everyone.

I've been DJing for a while now and wish to upgrade my equipment.

Currently I have:

2 x Numark TT1625 Turntables
1 x Numark DXM09 Mixer

Virtual DJ with Timecoded Vinyls

I have a lot of old Vinyls I wish to still be able to play and mix with so ultimately I would like to keep that option open and use Timecoded Vinyl to use for digital and mp3 side of things (so best of both worlds).

The main thing I wish to upgrade are the turntables, as they have low torque and are getting old. The only good thing left on them are Carl Cox Cartridges which I wish to keep and carry onto my new decks. I also own a DJ Coffin to hold two turntables and a mixer so want to keep that in the setup.

I have been looking at Numark TTX USB (do these work with phono to mxier though, as it says USB??) or possibly Numark TT500, to save the cash...

Another possibility was to get some CDX (although a bit expensive??) and covnert to CD but still have vinyl feel, as thats what I like. I would then buy a cheap mixer and have two separate setups.

Thoughts?

and VDJ can Rip Vinyl too...

Yes that is true.

I was thinkin maybe instead of upgrading the turntables I could maybe just add CD decks to it? That way the Cd decks would work better with VDJ and older turntables can be used for playingmy old tunes?

The options are limitless with VDJ. It's up to you of what u want it to be.
But before anything else, of course don't forget the base program u need, VDJ. Just click the BUY page on this site and ur ready to rule the dj world.

What's better out of these CD decks:

Pioneer CDJ100
Numark Axis 9
Citronic MPCD-S6
Denon DNS1000
Stanton C314

The biggest advantage to vdj is not carrying all that media. My honest opinion I would not invest in new tables. I have never played on vinyl, played on pioneer cmx 3000's for about nine years before going to vdj. Before purchasing vdj, and even for awhile after, I said the same thing. "I wanna keep my cd players for this and that." It didn't take long before I said screw that, I want to import all my media into vdj and carry much less equipment. I'd give it a little time before investing anymore money into outdated equipment if I were you.

I wouldn't say that CD decks are outdated, not everybody is going digital. Either way, the setup I have isn't really for moving around and if I was to take it anywhere all I would need is the 2 CD decks, mixer and my laptop.

So on that note I really feel it is nice to keep my old turntables for the vinyls I wish to keep because I do not want to sell them or shove them in a box. So if I buy CD decks to add to the vinyl turntables, I can run VDJ, and still use vinyls. If I really wanted to I could also take away VDJ and use the CD's with CD's

It's like having access to every media, just for a studio too.

Ultimately I will be having in a studio:

2 Turntables for vinyl
1 mixer in the middle
2 CD decks with timecoded CDs
1 laptop running VDJ

For mobile use:

2 CD decks
1 mixer
Laptop with CDJ
