Been thinking of cdj-400s but need a proper midi mixer - very pricey
been thinking of of NS7 but all in controller freaks me out - very pricey
Been thinking of the Vestax-300 - but built for Serato Itch - price range reasonable -
Been thinking of a laptop.. have no idea what to get -
I do video jugglin currently - using Numark Axis 9 Cd Players, U46dj sound card with Time Coded CDs.. with X-session midi ... using an XPX shuttle - with only 1gb memory. No major issues except now and then i lose control over my one of my player.. never both... A simple turn off and on.. then I am back up...Latency issues minimal
However my setup is just to big... and bulky. so i am thinking of setting up another system with a laptop that i can easily carry around.
What midi mixer could i get.. that is professional.. not too pricey.. if i decide to go with the cdj-400s....kinda leaning towards the cdjs though
NS7 - scares the hell out of me... is is worth it....???
Vestax-300 a good option.. if only it was native to vdj... and definitely not bulky at all... anyone working on mapping this player???

Behringer DDM 4000. I have heard good things about this mixer and have seen how it controls VDJ.
I am leaning towards the NS7 myself. As soon as I can AFFORD it, i'll get it.

Now a days, most laptops will run VDJ perfectly.
Video takes a better video card.
I am a firm believer in Sony machines.
I may be building again soon, we will see.
The Vestax is a very nice controller.
Frankly if you're not scratching, the controller route is the better way.
At least with this software you have options, more options than any other program.

I don't scratch so I use the M-Audio x-session pro and a trackball with no problems (midi learn in set up to customize the controller).

Get the CDJ-400 or the Denon DNS-1200 with a good quality mixer (no midi required) and thats it...
I´ve bought this weekend the Urei 1603 (Soundcraft) and I read that is a really good mixer with a lot. When it arrives I will make a review.

Whats up wiz.. Buy the Ns7.. The Ns7 is bigger and you will have comfort flexibility. You will be able to control the music better with bigger jobs. If you scratch.. imagine scratching on a bigger jog wheel.. Better manipulation... The Vestax 300 is not worth 899
and the CDJ 400s are not worth getting also. Too many people buy equipment and end up selling it again and wont get there moneys worth. Buy once and not twice..
The NS7 was built very good for the work horse. They are using premium parts inside. One thing i noticed about the NS7 is.. The 2 cd players and the mixer all have separate covers on them.. It looks like you can unscrew the cover and remove the each piece so it can get maintanance.
