Topic: Numark DMC2 vs. Denon DN-HC4500

Barring the fact that the Denon is also a sound card and the Numark has no audio out, which of these two is the better choice?

Right now I'm using a Numark Total Control and a Numark DJ|IO. They are ok.

But the Denon CD players I've owned and currently own are kick ass. I've never had a problem with Denon equipment. Numark on the other hand has embarrassed the shit out of me on more than one ocassion...

But I'm giving Numark a second chance to redeem itself...

One thng I do like about the Numark that I have to give it some extra points on is the transport button layout. It's perfect for VirtualDJ...

The 4500 with JPBoggis custom mapper is simply amazing. Only issue is Asio problems with the 4500 built in card. Some people have problems and others do not. I'm running VDJ on directsound at 23ms and it's fine.

The mapper offers really advanced features, if you download the mapper there is a text file with it that detaila all the functionality - it's mindblowing.

I have never liked Numark, Denon is far far better quality all round.
 
Hello, I personally Dmc2 the Numark for almost a year (I do not use it every day), and I read tres content None Bug, very good quality manufacturing
Plastic buttons professional
There is also a Mapper JP Boggis for dmc2 very practical ;-).
Screen visible and very detailed

I use the DMC2. I chose this unit over the Denon purely because I like the un-cluttered control layout and the very close similarity to the Numark CDN 95 hardware player that I use. I have been using the DMC2 for over a year now and would say that my only problem has been a tempamental track select rotary control which turned out to be a dust problem.
Not having a built in soundcard is , I find not an issue as it has given me the opertunity to upgrade my soundcard without changeing my controller.
This may be an issue for laptop users who cant replace the internal soundcard and must use a usb card but I have always used a dedicated PC to run VDJ.
I think that both the Denon and the Numark are superb. I chose the Numark on a personal preference basis and I am very happy with the unit.

I preffer the HC4500 because of the built in soundcard. As far as it controlling virtual dj, it stinks. There is always a pitch freeze on each song. You have to jiggle it alittle then it detects that you are moving it. The pitch is off, either it sounds too slow or fast when you are moving it up or down. There is a slight delay when pushing the hot starts. The HC4500 works best with serato, Everything is on point and it works beyond your expectations. You dont even need a mapper too.
 
I Think the reason for having to jiggle to pitch slider is because you might have the pitch to reset on load.
Other than that i have to agree on the performance of it with serato, it's really good.
 
I prefer the HC4500 it's a much better quality machine. I have not had any quirks, problems, or bugs using this unit with J.P Boogie's mapper.
It's been right on point in all phases. I recommend this piece to anyone thinking about getting a controller.


Yo by the way Dj Caliente, I think that pitch problem you have is a setting in your HC4500. You just have to get J.P Boogies mapper and read up on it. Go through the instuctions and will tell you how to get rid of that .
 
They are both good units..it all boils down too how much money you want to spend..and what brand name you want everyone too see you using...
