Topic: How would I do this...

I need to create and display a text title (of the name "BRANDEN") that looks like it is filled with LEDS. Is there a utility or shareware out there that can create glitzy looking titles like that? I use CS3 Premiere Pro, as well as Photoshop, and I could build this look from scratch, but that would take several hours. Here's a pic of the style I'm trying to get....

That would be a good and fun plugin. I would certainly use it.

I hope someone can.
 
The facebook thing is more of a scrolling text string. I was more thinking of a Photoshop Plug In, or some kind of unique LED filled font...??

try this for your font eric, http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=302 cioce passed this on to djanthony this morning, i haven't tried it yet but will later today, i let you know how it goes. in the meantime you could try it with scroll text as also suggested by cioce.

suppose the effect will also depend on the colour palette you have...
 
That Clubland font is getting closer, but the vowels are lower case, and it's not really an LED look... it's got a lot of smaller pieces among the larger circles.

I want to render this on a blue screen, which will be chroma-keyed out at the event and ultimately superimposed on a live camera feed. So the guest of honor (Branden inthis case) will have his name "blasting" on the screen during the evening in a cool-looking LED pattern. I can then assign this to a VDJ keyboard shortcut.
 
have you tried it in png, then put it into show logo ?
 
No I haven't. What is a PNG?
 
you make your file into png format and it basically gives you a clear see through background as you can see in my avatar square, will leave that there until you have answered eric so i no you have seen it
 
Actually, I have no problem with the transparency issue... I just need the right looking font.
 
what i was trying to get across eric was if you finally find what you are looking for and used a png format you could use the show logo plug in and cut out all of the unnecessary camera stuff. will look into this further for you tomorrow if you like.
 
are we getting any nearer with this font and effect,you can use this coming on your screens super imposed using show logo.
 
Tayla - I really appreciate the suggestions. I'll check out the show logo option tommorrow, but actually, I was intending to create a chrom-key clip out of it so I can direct it to a single keyboard shortcut, and not mess with going thru a few VDJ sub-menus and activation to play this effect.

The Clubland font is OK, but please forgive me... it looks a bit cheezy. When I blow it up on a screen, it looks very pixelated. I've got to try playing with it some more.
 
well it looks like the adobe route then for you, sorry i couldn't help, gonna mess around with this basically for my own amusement if i come up with anything spectacular i let you know, Andrew Kramer will be my first stop.... lol
