Topic: Total control plus microphones

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi all,

I understand how the Total Control works, in that it's a midi device and not really a mixer. I also see how a mic can be connected to the IO unit.

As a predominantly wedding DJ, I often need 2 and occasionally 3 microphones. I also have a feeling I need to be able to plug in additional line sources, such as a client's laptop at a corporate event, etc.

The compact size of the TC makes me reluctant to keep a 19" mixer just for those times I may need more inputs. Is a little multi mixer really the only and best option? Non DJ, no crossfader, small footprint style, like this sort of thing? I'd run the sound card through it on a stereo channel, leaving a few spare for mics, backup laptop, etc.

Is this the best way to approach this? Thanks. :)

I had the same situation you have so I dumped the Numark 100 mixer and bought this..

I also use the Total Control with the I/O and needed multiple mics for singers. This unit cost $209 and also comes with the ears needed for 19" rack mounting.Best move I made and sounds 100% better!

You can also use a 1/8 plug out of your lappy and in to the RCA on the mixer for clients laptops or if your I/O should fail during the night.
I also use the xtra inputs for my MP3 player (should I have to reboot with the unexpected crash/lockup) or a guests IPOD ,plus sound FX for your all mics/channels if you want. Plenty of options if this fits your needs.

Thanks. It's just as I thought - the TC or IO don't really do "line in". No problem - plenty of small mixers that are about the same size as the controller. I'm looking at a new custom case with a drawer. TC on top, mixer and keyboard underneath on a drawer.
