worst jerks you've encountered ...... were they always this cheap ? have they always worn there pants backwards ?

petty Richard Taters ...... if i have to turn around to see who it is you are talking to so rudely ......be prepared to get called out in front of everyone ........

After a wedding ended, I had the groom's brother threaten to kick my ass if I didn't turn the system back on and play "Vogue." I was so surprised by this idiot, I honestly looked around to figure out who he was talking too. I'm 6'7" 235lbs. This guy was much smaller. Either he was an MMA fighter, drunk, or watched Rocky IV before the wedding. I'm guessing drunk.
 
That's funny.

Hopefully he realized the error of his logic before you wiped his face on the sidewalk
 
Ah the "I'll kick your arse if you don't play one more song". I think most of us have experienced that sometime. Its only happened once to me but the guy got into a fight while waiting outside and someone else sorted him out. Not that I would have anyway as i prefer to DJ without busted knuckles.
 
the worse jerks i've encountered at work have VIP cards, like to tell management how bad the music is because we're not playing what they like, think that the card is a "power card" that means their song gets played next no matter what we're doing, and pretty much live there when they're not at work or at home inbreeding... 'nuff said?

Sorry about the delayed reply but I only just found your question while I was trying to find a previous post I had written.

It isnt a brady bunch t-shirt. Its was some US politicians faces in a Brady Bunch setting with the title "The Shady Bunch".

the last guy to tell me that i told him he had to go find the manager and if the manager said okay then i would play one more song. he decided it was gonna be a good idea to threaten the manager with the ass kicking if we didnt play his song. manager says no, customer decided to swing - so he gets barred for a year after being carried from the back of the building out the front door and then into the waiting arms of the boys in blue.

stupid is as stupid does.
 
I always tell the rude ones be like everyone else; request a song, get back to what you were doing, and quit your bitchin. It makes me laugh that people think I'm a cater to em after they just pissed me off for being rude. The worst thing you can do if you wanna hear your song is piss the dj off right?
 
yup..ok ask for the song..ill get it in..BUT NNNNOOOOO..they want me to cut the song off right away and put on what they want..im like theres people still dancing..ill fix up my set and ill work my way towards that song...but then they get all mad cuz i dont play it...
 
Payback is a bitch and in the situation above I have in the past cut the song that was playing, wait a few seconds with dead air, load the song the asshole wants, then make an announcement: Due to the gentleman up here acting like he owns the place I HAVE to play this next song so if you don't like it talk to him, Usually only happens every once and awhile, I then see NO MORE requests for the end of the night.

Most requests that I get are for songs that I am gonna play anyway. I'm just not gonna play em RIGHT NOW.

For the assholes.......
I usually don't have too many problems. I'm from the streets and whenever I need to...It shows!

Besides, security is pretty tight everywhere I play and me and security are real good friends.
Only a few have found this fact out the hard way.
