Topic: Help 4 Skin( EDK )

Hi all .

I will like to create some skins for vdj 5.2 .
I already downloaded microsoft vissual c++ 2008 .

But its really complicated lol .

Can anybody tell me what kind of things i need else than c++ .

Some instruction will be nice , thanks to all .

Hi DJLaja

You do not need visaul c++ to make skins.

All you (basically) need is a text editor like notepad and Microsoft Paint.

To make things easier and the graphics look much better you can use:
Notepad2 (for the XML)

Photofiltre (for the graphics), Paint.Net, GIMP, Photoshop (this one isn't free).

This is the skin SDK page, it explains nearly everything about the XML

The easiest way to start skinning, is to open a skin zip file, and look inside how it is done.

And last but not least, I'm currently working on a Skin Creator tool, that will help all users in writing the XML part.
 
I use XML Marker (free) and Paint.NET (free) to make skin mods ;)
 
ok ok thank you very much , its seems to be complicated but i guess that i will made it with some time , maybe you will see my first skin in a few months. lol .

Last question for the moment , for what do i need c++ then ????????

Yes for plugins n some programming etc.

i got vdj pro but im still a fu**ing rokie hehehe.

Lets see if i first find out how to make a skin , and then the rest .

SO FOLKS.
i finished my first skin modification for vdj 5.2 for all RMX Users . i hope they will post it on the addons site soon , enjoy it .
PS: Not the best thing i did , but i think for the first one its ok , its just a modification ***

Your NAME Tag across the top is covering the clock. Fix it and it will get posted.

And please do not upload the same skin multiple times, it will not get posted that way either. If you update the skin then you need to update that entry with the new file - do not make another new upload.
 
Uh this was embarasing lol . Im very stupid sometime , hope that it is ok now , sorry for all the trouble .

4 and skin should always be seperated in a sentence or phrase...
