O.k so I have been comfortably using serato 2nd edition colored vinyls since 5.1.......I would like to share and compare my experiences with them with those of you who use them and contrast it against my 3rd gen vdj vinyl.
+'s.....I obviously opted to use them first because they look good (vain as we all are), and they are extremely lighter than most any vinyl you'll find around. They are also much cheaper, and readily available incase of emergencies, general wear and tear, or hoarding replacement needs. They also work well with any slipmats.
-'ves...They are extremely thin and as such may easily warp from subtle temp changes, they are also light and therefore require more precision when doing tricks regardless of what weight is on the cart or setting for the tonearm is used......try, quick backspins with the needle drop point marked out, and see how many times you'll get back to the same point on the vinyl...beatjuggling is seriously discouraged....

In any case I prefer, the serato ones to vdj ones for their lightness, availability and ease of use......I would like to see some colored vdj ones, maybe a little lighter than the 3rd gen ones, without the little protective part on the edge, and obviously (wishful thinking) cheaper.

disclaimer Vdj's vinyl works better....:-)
