Sure once everyone can afford the $2000 rack mount controller -- wait, I will just by a MAC and use a mouse.
 
I was going to buy the controller part only .... but the Pioneer DJS software is truly shocking.

I went for the DN-HC4500 with JP Boggis mapper and VDJ instead. Pioneer gear is good, but the DJ Software they offer is one of the worst I've ever came across. Shame, as I'm sure they could just get in to bed with someone else and develop a better interface (not PCDJ by the way) :)
 
How much does the Denon 4500 and the optional player cost. I will have a look and touch next week in AC. No, no, that is not the same thing I say to the hookers. I ask them for a sniff and a touch, and it cost just as much, but I can't take it home with me, or make a mix.
 
The AC sniff check... a necessary evil, lol! Oh wait, this is about Pioneer. I understand their high costs because normally there isn't anything that can compete with the product. This one... not so much. Now if it played video, I'd consider it.
 
I don't think it would be hard to map to VDJ though, but this is a bit too expensive for me. I've got CDJs and wouldn't want to lay out on this too.

I can see how a bar would like this. You can have 20 playlists with 150 songs in each playlist with cross-fade effects between the two. A lot of mobiles could use it too in that way. It is supposed to do a beat match crossfade I think but wouldn't imagine that it would work as well as I would like it to.

I'm waiting for the CDJ1000 Mk4 - the one with the usb ports and midi capability.

Not really, but looks like a better fit for me than the Denon 4500. I don't need a controller with a sound card, unless it has 3 stereo outputs. I have a DMC 2 now, and am always looking to upgrade. This would also allow me to get rid of my Denon CD player, which has not been used in ages. However, I am about to be out of a job, so don't really have any money. That has not stopped me before, though. Anything could happen in AC.
