how does this feature work?

I guess it handles "noisemap" TCV's. i.e Serato signal. If you have SSL TCV's use this option. It's what I've been using cause I don't feel like buying VDJ, VV TCV's.

It just plain works!! I have not had a better setup than vdj software, m-audio conectiv hardware and serato tcv (second edition)

doesn't work very well for me :-( I get skips and drop-outs using Serato TCV, but not with the VV-vinyl. Tried both the VV interface and the Maya 44 usb. And signal is not stable. 100% most of the time, but constantly drops out.

We advise you to download the tool "DPC Latency Checker" ©Thesycon

Or try using VDJpro 5.1 with noise-map tcv engine. Not sure if VV has the latest update.

I am using VDJPro 5.1. I have both....

@ DJCEL.

Tried the latency test and my laptop performed very well (it's 2,5Ghz C2D with 4GB ram). But isn't it strange that I'm just having problems with the noisemap engine and not the VDJ ones?

The noise map feature doesn't work if local networks are enabled on your laptop, so disable your active internet connection and try again....Also re-adjusting your perfomance settings is necessary, I think 5.1 if your settings are exactly as they were in rev 7 is using more of the system...But all the same the noise map feature is an excellent addition and it is not only very stable but the serato vinyls like the one's above are cheaper( in the states), more readily available and have a better feel than the 3rd gen vdj one's, they even slide differently off the slipmats..he he......rock on!

Thanks for the info lennyndegwa, good look'n out I had no idea about these settings!!

That's strange what you are explaining and for me it's a little bit wrong: If you are talking about ethernet, the only consequence can be on the CPU (or the sound card) but not on the noisemap itself. So the effect of ethernet can't be directly linked to the noisemap.

Let me rephrase.....local networks specifically, wireless ones! I was being general and therefore wrong in including ethernet.....
