Topic: HC4500 and Virtual dj with the mapper

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I read the instructions and i still cant figure out something. I want to disable the play pause from marking the first cues button on the one 1 thru 5 keyes. I want to mark cue by pressing any one of the 1 thru 5 cue myself without virtual dj doing for me on the play pause. I had a denon cd player before and this is not like the Hc4500 native with virtual dj. On a cd player. you can cue a song but its only temporaly. You can also hot start 2 parts of the song. When you re cue the song, It doesnt add anything to the hot start. You add something by pressing on the 1 or 2 hot start keys. Virtual dj adds a cue easily from the play pause and erases what you already had setup in key 1 each time you press play and pause, it over writes the the key 1 cue Press play pause again and another over write. Its not supposed to do that, not even the denon cd player does that.

I noticed that if you want to cue a song and have 5 cues, why is it that only cue 1's light stays on and the other cue are marked but the lights are not lit.

has anyone here used the Hc4500 with serato. If only virtual dj can work just like serato has it native for the hc4500. They dont have a play pause to mark the 1st cue. they have it setup that, you have to press memo first and the 1 thru 5 keyes light up and you press any of the 5 to mark your cues. push memo again to exit. You push play, press the cue button or pause and it wont delete any of the 5 keyes of your stored cues.

Its import to have cues and not so easy to be deleted. Dj ying is not the same anymore and having your cues setup makes it easier to play it right away without doing a search for the part where you want to start your song.

I uninstalled the mapper because i got fed up so now im using it natively. It works better for me because i can scroll up and down thru my files without having to press another buton first and when i play and push pause, it doesnt mark a cue on the 1 key. However, the cue button marks a cue on the 1 key. I just have to be carefull on not accidentally deleting my saved cue points because its really easy to over write in key 1 with virtual dj.

One thing i still dont know how to do is delet a cue point. I know you can over write over a cue point but i dont know how to remove the existance of ever having a cue point.

Have you tried changing 'Cue/Play Mode' in user parameters?

It gives you 3 choices: Denon, Cue/Play and Stop/Play - Change it to Stop/Play and you will have no more cue point setting via either the CUE or PLAY buttons (Cue points can then only be set in Cue Points mode via the [1-5 buttons or the parameter knob.)

I might be able to add an alternative Denon mode with a soft cue (Like the A1/A2 buttons) in a future version.

Remain in browse mode when loading songs is already an option in the next version.

Also, in Cue Points mode, the 1-5 button LED's light up dimmly to indicate that a particular cue point has been set, and brightly when the song is currently at that cue point's position.

However, it's only possible to do this for the cue points #1-#3 though because a plugin can only query VDJ for the position of these 3 cue points. The position of other cue points cannot currently be determined.

This is the one im looking for.

Change it to Stop/Play and you will have no more cue point setting via either the CUE or PLAY buttons (Cue points can then only be set in Cue Points mode via the [1-5 buttons or the parameter knob.)

I was trying to press flip and Cont/Single and moved parameters to 11 but i dont know how to change from there.

Is there a way i can delete a stored cue. I can only over write a cue.

Thanks

Once you have selected the parameter you want to change, you need to press the parameter knob to edit it. Turn the parameter knob to choose the new setting and then press the parameter knob to set it.

When in Cue Points mode, pressing FLIP+1-5 will delete the appropriate cue point, or FLIP+parameter knob press will delete the current selected cue point.

I have it working good now. I like working with cues to mix up my music fast.

I need to ask a silly question ... but how do you uninstall mapper that you have installed?

Simply delete the .dll file from My Documents\\VirtualDJ\\Plugins\\ControlDevice. The same will work with any other plugin you have installed.

NOTE: You can turn the HC4500 mapper on/off temporarily via Effects -> External Devices -> hc4500. When the mapper is not enabled, it will pass all control back to the default native support.

I have another question. I hope I can continue under this topic. I got my hc4500 yesterday and i have toyed with it and mapper since then:)

Just wondering if there is a buttons to skip beat +-1 or +-4?
Back-button is -1 but is there +1 anywhere? It is useful if you press sync and songs gets offbeat by +-1 or more.

Can I display camelot key instead of normal key?

Thanks for the great mapper!

There is no skip forward by 1 beat, but in Cue Points mode, you can press FLIP + << / >> to skip backwards/forwards by 4 beats.

It's only possible to show normal key at the moment. There's currently no query in the plugin SDK to return the Camelot value.

Instead of using +-1 beat i parametrized (+) and (-) buttons' pitch bend value to 128, so I can adjust the beat quite fast. The only problem is the brake effect if you slow pitch down too much. Can i disable it? I prefer to use brake effect by changing pitch percent to 100% and then slow down the bpm.

You can disable the incremental pitch bend on the +/- buttons by setting the pitch bend value to a negative value, e.g: -128
