Topic: Problem with text2d in 5.1

I just got a new Dell xps laptop and set up Virtual 5.1. Everything is up and running except text2d. I updated directx and I can get text to scroll, but not flash. When I enter text and hit active or apply and activate, nothing happens. I tried moving the slider in increments in both directs, but still nothing. I'm using Vista Home edition. Help anyone?

You have to play a song on the deck because "flash" is synchronysed on beats

Ok, I tried it on my desktop and it worked. My next question is, is there a way to manually set the rate of the flashing? There is a slider tp the right of the flash check box, but no matter how many times I adjust it, as soon as I hit apply and activcate, it goes to zero and the text flashes to the beat of the music. In some instances I like to have the text flash slowly independant of the music. Is there a way to do this?
