Topic: 2 Deck AutoMix

I may be wrong but it appears that 2 deck automix (as it was in 4.3) is gone for good and I will have to live with 4.3 (which is great software)....and i never have a problem with it....

Not trying to start the 2 deck vs 1 deck war here again...i think the customers were pretty clear last time around.... I thought?

Is there a way to manipulate 5.1 to work/act just like 4.3 in this regard (from skin buttom automix to it working on both decks?)

Have you even looked at the 5.1 automix improvements? We added a second wave form display with sliding IN and OUT mixpoints on the waveforms.

We have tried to explain with every advancement from initial 5.0 release through 5.0.7, that the 2 deck automix was not going to return. But we promised that we would look at ways to improve the single deck automix. With the dual wave form display, IN and OUT mix points, better load management ( on initial start of automix, second track does not load until after full load of 1st track), new automix channel for skin designers to add information about waiting track, and close attention to bugs that needed correcting -- all this released in 5.1 -- I would say that we have significantly improved automix to almost identical to a 2 deck system but using 1 deck.
 
I did download 5.1...but I am just not seeing any difference....I can't seem to figure it out...it seems to work just like 5.0 not seeing any difference? Are there some updated instructions? Maybe the technology has finally passed my little brain?

I don't recall anyone explaining that 2 deck automix would not return. I do remember a LONG debate about it with 90% of the people wanting it back..

If there are any directions or another post tha explains which skin to use...how to use it I would appreciate it....

I read through the automix section again but didn't find too much more....Some of the improvements look positive...

Is there anyway to have Automix go to the next song on the list without having to actually double click that song (a 1 key shortcut or is there a way to reprogram the Automix skin key to do that?)

Also, is there a way for the automix songs to be removed from the list as they are played rather than having to go back and click remove played?

Any help is very appreciated.

The new automix improvements will work in any skin. When you enable automix, the waveform view will change, and you will see the current and next track - along with moveable mix point sliders.

There IS an AutoMix on the Playlist which is nice, but I think the above posts may be referring to the AutoMix button that was on the older versions (very topp center) that allowed you to AutoMix from one deck to the other. So if you could be playing on Deck #1, cue up Deck #2, press the AutoMix button and the crossfader would slide from the one playing to the one cued up. That button is gone on the newest version, but can be made as a Macro to work with a keyboard combination (like Alt-Space or whatever you want).
 
Thanks for the help...I think I am getting there.... I followed Page 38 and the space bar works nicely to cross-fade and start the next track.... Hopefully someone can help me with Automix now...

If I have a playlist loaded and start song1...how can I program 1 key to mix to the next song when hit and eliminate the songs that have been played (and are currently playing) from the playlist....??

I have an ongoing problem with automix which I rasied a ticket for a couple of years back but a solution doesn't seem to be available. Here's the scenario.

I have the "use this plug-in for audio only files" tab selected to either Clipbank or Sonique in Virtual DJ 7 (was the same in other recent versions)

In automix mode, when there's a transition from video to audio the video picture mixes perfectly into the Clipboard/Sonique effects, however, when auto mixing the other way from audio to another video, the mix crossfades into a black screen before the video picture kicks in at the very end of the transition. This happens in all video transitions. It works fine both ways when used manually.

Is this a limitation on the system or is there a fix?
