Is anybody using the ready boost feature in Vista ?? It's intended to allow for increasing ram by using space on a usb flash drive ..... you can increase the ram by what you have now times 1.5

It only works if:
You have a flash drive that is compatible.
It only works well if:
You have very little ram in your system...I believe most benchmarks only found improvements with systems with less than 1gb...in some benchmarks some programs declined in performance very slightly in systems with large amounts of ram.
In conclusion:
If you need a system boost...as cheap as ram is these days just buy an additional stick and install it in your machine. If you don't need a boost...don't bother using ready boost as there's a chance it can actually hinder a program (i'm not sure about VDJ specifically)

It can be unstable as it is read allot slower than a real ram stick so if you are worried about ram its best to upgrade it with real sticks.

32 bit vista/ xp supports 4 gb , one will be used to support the hardware if all 4 gb is installed.
64 bit supports alot more up to 128 gb.

32 bit vista supports 3Gb > SP1 for Vista supports 4Gb ;)
Xp supports 3Gb (even SP3)
64Bit should support up to 16Tb
