is there any way to scan my entire external hard drive so that all the bpms of every song could be available?

What do you recommend to backup my external hard drive with all the bpms i already have?

copy the song in the exact listed and place them on the new drive. Also copy the XML file on the current drive and place it in the new drive.

or you can have VDJ copy the music to the new drive and copy the XML the new drive.

so your suggestion is to carry two external drives?

Right now i dont have all the bpms set for all my music what is the quickest way?

I'm not suggesting to carry a backup drive that is your choice. I have all my music on my internal drive that is anylized but "removed from data" so the current database doesn't know it's there unless I tell it to search.

I have another external for back up the back up with same info and process.

i see

so how do i analyze the external hard drive

So when your ready to read that drive just have that drive plugged in and right click on that drive / folder and click on add to database. VDJ will then treat that drive as if it's been there the whole time.

i dont think you understand my question

i have an external hard drive with about 150gbs of music when i connect it

the songs dont have the bpm yet i have to play the song a little bit so the bpm will appear and it will be saved there

i dont want to sit there and play every song

is there a quicker way

Sorry, if this is a new setup drive then yes your going to have to anylize the drive at first to create a XML database. If you have a decent computer this will take you 3-4 hours to process. I recommend doing it during nighty night time. As far as back up do as list above which will take you a moment to do.

Yes, right mouse button click on the folder and select "Scan For BPM" and if its house/trance/techno select house. Or, select other for all other types of music. if the songs are not in a folder highlight one in the browser. Press CTRL and A it should highlight them all. Then right mouse button select BPM and you should see the same two options.
