Topic: Cue Points in VDJ

hey peps, i'm new to the forum and i just had a quick question. I have a desktop computer as well as a laptop with a portable harddrive. I set most of my cue points on the vdj on my desktop, but when i go to my laptop and pull up the songs in VDJ non of the cue points or info i saved is on the audio track i would have to re do all the cut points all over again. I was wondering if i was the drive letter change that was messing with it but i changed the drive letter on my laptop for it to match with the desktop name givin to the harddrive. But that still doesn't work.. Is there any way which i can keep my cue points the same when i switch from desktop to laptop? please ur help would be appreciate alot! i'm using vdj 4.2 and an mk2 mixer if thats any help.

As long as the drive letter is the same between the 2 pcs and the files are exactly the same all you have to do is go to My Documents on the desktop and copy the Virtual dj databases over to the lappys My Documents/Virtual dj folder.
 
But remember the database is stored individualy on each computer so if your practicing on one computer and set cue points. They are not going to be stored for the next computer. You would have to do everything over. The 5x versions gets rid of that hassle and places the data on each drive in itself. That way you can plug and play in any 5x setup.
 
thanks discobrian... i just tried to carry the folder VDJ i had on the my documents on the desktop to the laptop..but i don;t even see a virtual dj folder in the my documents of the laptop could it be else where?

thanks for your response fatkatzdj, so i need to get vdj version 5 your saying to beat that problem?
 
Hell yeah, I use three computers, 2 vista and 1 xp. Before it was a pain in the ass to make any changes before. I would not go back to 4.3 for anything. How about those times when you have idea and you practice to make it work. Do you really want to copy and past over and over again between computers
 
so what is version 5 what they call pro or no? i'm looking for it to buy but can't find it.
