I have a friend who is using PCVJ and he can't get any mp4 video's to load/play. When he loads the file into a deck the artist-title scrolls but the actual audio/video does not load. In codec's for mp4 it is "Video Decoder".
The video's do play in quicktime externally just not in PCVJ. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.

I know this isn't the PCVJ forum but I know somebody here has an answer. :)
I changed my friend's setting from Quicktime Decoder to Video Decoder, which is what my mp4 is set to, and it still didn't work for him. At the end of the filename in the deck it does say "Error".

Possible DRM protection may be?
You get that kind of thing when using WMA files that the DRM has expired.

Yes, but what Codec was used ? There are several MP4 encoding codecs out there. If they are 3ivX, then you will need to use the Windows Media Player as the decoder. If they are mp4 DivX then they should work find using the Video Decoder. MP4 is just like saying AVI -- there are different 'encodings' for the one format, unlike VOB, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 -- when you say a file is one of those that is what they are.

Just install K-Lite codec pack, it might help.
