Topic: Stanton c.314 First Impressions & Music123 Final Thoughts

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I promised I would post a report on the c.314 & I just got it in today. I haven't had a whole lot of time to play with it yet, only about 20 minutes worth. So I haven't tried the sample banks or setting cue points, but from what I have tested so far it seems exactly what I wanted & more. It's pretty big and has a cd tray rather than slot loading, but no big deal there at all. I set the sensitivity of the jogs pretty high, it had pretty good response out of the box but I wanted the scratching to be as good as possible. That being said, the scratchability of this player seems excellent, fast scratches are no problem. I like the feel of the jogs as well. Something that really turned me on, which wasn't mentioned in the ad, is that you can use the main platter for vinyl mode while simultaniously using the outer jog for effects, seems a very practical layout. Sound quality is good even with the outputs split. MP3 loading is fast too & the seemless looping with b point edit is great as well. So I've still got tons more to play around with, sample banks, cue points, key lock, etc. but so far I am extremly pleased with this deck & can't wait to add the second.

Unfortunatly, my experiance with music123 is not so positive. I'm not gonna repeat the hassle they put me through which was explained in my post "Why I'll Never shop At Music123 Again", and their inability to maintain availability of items on their site (even several days after) is bad enough, but the new twist is even worse. The beatcounter I ordered was shipped in a plain white plastic bag with ZERO padding or packing. The c.314 was shipped only as the product box with the addressed taped on it, and the box was badly beaten & even had a hole get popped in the side. There's no excuse for this kind of service, even with the deal they cut me for the ordering hassle & that (thank God) nothing luckily was damaged, I'm not gonna take the risk of ordering from them again. We as DJ's are very dependant on the equipment we use & for our hard earned money, we deserve much better than this type of careless service;^]

sounds cool... if i ever need a cheap back up, probably get this one actually

and i have had some decent experience with music123 when ordering my first mixer... ehh not bad imo

nice write up

Cool Timmy. The one thing I want to point out is that the C.314 will wear out over time (like anything else). The thing that wears out is the platter. Over time (about 2 years of decent use) you will have to use more and more pressure. Please do not let this sway you away from buying it as it is a GREAT player!

Also look at the new one as they have made a bit cooler black color as well as installed a slot loading CD. C.324 = NO MORE TRAY BABY! That was the biggest thing I pushed for when I was a Stanton DJ. They have some more cool stuff in the works so don't count Stanton out when looking for gear. The mixers are the shizznizzle and I have a M.202 that I still use even over my others. Just a great great mixer with an awesome fader.

Check out the SC System.

I thought about getting the c.324 for my second deck, but two things are holding me back. One is that I'm a little sketchy about mix matching my decks, and two that my rebate check is only gonna be $300. Though maybe I could find a deal come may when the rebate checks get sent out.

I did find one problem with sampling on the c.314. When I set a loop using a-b looping it sounds fine, I go to assign it to a pad & in one shot mode while holding down said pad it sounds fine, but when I set the sample section to loop the loop will play about halfway through & then returns to the beggining of the loop making the loop useless (however I've seen people in vids use it without that problem) . I emailed Stanton tech support about the issue & am still waiting to hear back, though I'll probably use the pads more for hot cues than for sampling. Still I hope they can help me solve this issue, that's really a pretty big deal.

hehe, I'm hoping that in two years I'll be ready to upgrade again;^]

Got an answer back from stanton tech support, apparently samples can only be 5 seconds long. So I tryed a single bar loop & that worked fine. Would be nice to have longer loops, but I can live with it;^]
