I dl the pro version for a gig on saturday. It was horrible I could not get the headphones to work. I think i configured everything to my mk2.

Tried the home edition it worked.

I want my money back what are the odds.

I have an older model of a Dell Inspiron laptop.

That doesn't say much without your specs. Money back I think is a dream. That's what demos are for.

Did you do much testing at home before your gig?

It take me about 2 weeks to get the right setup. Stick with it, and you will sort it out. What are your Spec's? Have you got the latest Herc 2008 drivers?

You need the latest 2008 driver from hercules.

Then choose

Inputs : none
Outputs : Headphones
Card : 4.1
Driver : Mk2 Console
1/2 main 3/4 headphones

need to dl 2008 drivers

what is 1/2 and 3/4

For the demo guy like i said everything worked great on the home edition but i guess this is where the Hook --Line and SINKER quote came from.

Those are the channel asignments.

I would download the 2008 drivers and install them, I had problems with rev7 untill they came out. Trust me they do improve VirtualDJ and the mk2 performance.

What i do is plug in my mixer channel(3) into the 3/4 on the mk2 and then USB to the my laptop.

I could get music out of the split or mix but i could not get anything out of player1 or player2 so i could not cue up the next song it was a long messed up night.

You must explain what are your configuration, do you use MK2 only or Hardware Mixer.
If you use only MK2, choose 4.1 in sound cards
For Hardware mixer choose the same but check External mixer in Hercules Control Panel and in the VDJ settings also.

I think I know what you mean, but I think it's slightly wrong. On the back of the mk2 you have 4 large Outputs (the ones with Red and white rings on them)

Get a RCA cable with 2 jacks on both ends. Plug the first pair of jacks into large Output1/2, making sure the colours are the same, red with red and white with white. On the other end of the RCA cable plug the other two jacks into a Aux channel, or 3rd channel of your mixer.

Then use the front headphone socket for your headphones,

Then in your Sound setup in VirtualDJ set up use

Inputs : none
Outputs : Headphones
SoundCard : MK2 Console

1/2 main 3/4 headphones

Another example of why you should never make your first run of ANY piece of equip. or software at a gig.

But you live & you learn, next time you should consider running full system tests several times before gigging with it;^]

He don't get it. These lessons were taught in DJ 101. It's too bad he fell asleep. Just what we need, another "DJ" in front of clients without a clue. You want your money back? Did you give the client their money back?

If I buy a fast car today, can I drive in the Indy 500 tomorrow?

Wake up, and pay attention. There will be a test, juan is the big dog.

This one got me Rick...spit beer all over my monitor..I need an AMaHM filter for when I drink and peruse the forum.....

I can't make this shit up. It's a good thing I'm not armed, because I would shoot my monitor, just from reading stuff like this.

Does seem like common sense to me, then again we still have people advising other users to endanger themselves by removing ground plugs from gear. The thing is in this situation, it's a known issue with the mk2 & 5.or7, a little testing & forum search would have provided the sollution;^]

Just to clarify there is NO ISSUES with the MK2 running Rev 7 with the 08 drivers. Now lets start over here. What exactly are you trying to do with the mk2. Do you want a single output, or do you want to use it in mixer mode where you have 2 outputs. Let me know.

There is one unless I was doing something wrong, which is the issue I think he was talking about. That is when selecting just the mk2 from the drop down menu, that the headphone cue selector on the front of the mk2 doesn't work. I couldn't get it to work that way anyway;^]

That's old school, nobody uses that any more, except us old schoolers. It's played out, no colors or blinking lights. You can't text it, or email it. It not on an ipod or a flash drive. This guy hears a gunshot, and he's trying to see which direction it came from. Me, I'm crawling toward the exit, which I already have recorded to memory. "The girl that was with me, I don't know officer, she must still be in the club".

Common sense has become an oxymoron. Like hamburger steak, or calling a bald guy "Curly". Showing good sense is not common anymore....

That issue was fixed with the Hercules 08 drivers. Works fine here.
