Topic: External Mixers & VDJ

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Sorry if this is already covered....

I am thinking of buying a (external) mixer, so that I can use it with my feet (well, thats the idea), and VDJ...... Now, I'm not clued up on the technical aspects of real DJ equipment, or even VDJ compatibility with them.

So, my queries are:

1. Can VDJ communicate with any mixer (even an usb version), or does it only work with the ones listed in the 'Config>Remote Control'?;

&

2. Can I still use VDJ's deck controls as usual, but use it's mixer part on the external mixer (if you understood that lol);

The reason that I'd like to buy a mixer is because, I have better dexterity in my feet (well, one) than my hands - and want to feel what its like to use proper equipment, as I take it for granted..... Plus I'm thinking about going Mobile soon.

TIA, and I hope I didn't sound such a n00b lol

Pedster - I would look into the M-Audio X-Session Pro. It is a MIDI controller. So, you would simply plug-in via USB and you are on your way. There are some MIDI mapping files in the download section that would help you get started immediately.

And Yes, you would still be able to use VirtualDJ as you have been. This would just extend that access/control to using the controller as well.

Hey Pedster.you can use any mixer, but you might need an external ASIO sound card. Once the mixer is connect you can still use the PC interface as usual. Or, you can use the sound card you have now and a Total Control there is a lot of room around the cross fader on it. The MKII is very small so I would stay away from it, however the RMX is larger.....hope this helps T

Neither own of those give you MIDI control of the VirtualDJ application.

If your real goal is to have the full DJ experience with true external mixer, CD players, and still be able to access VirtualDJ from the Mixer and the Computer - you are going to have to 'invest' some money.

Because what you would be looking for is a Full feature mixer with MIDI capabilities... like the Pioneer DJM-800 ( http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/44/74/461/DJM-800/index.html ) or the Ecler NUO4 ( http://www.eclerdjdivision.com/productCont.php?ap=2&sub=1&id=3 ) or Ecler's EVO line( http://www.evobyecler.com )
