Topic: XPS m1330 video card

Does anyone kbow if this dells 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8400M GS is sufficient for running VDJ with video?

I have 4 GB of RAM

I bought the m1330 and I am about to buy VDJ pro, but I heard you should have at least 256MB dedicated for video.

It can borrow from Ram if nessecary, virtual memmory,that´s all I know bout it :p
 
I was thinking of getting a dell and I have experimented on a friends Dell inspiron 1520. It is a core duo running at 1.7mghz with the 8400gs with 128mg and 4 gig ram and it WILL NOT do video.....we've tried virtually everything we can think of as far as settings go. ....runs audio great but the video won't work at all....video freezes whenever you try to load the next file and during crossfades the audio gets real distorted and the crossfade takes aout 30 seconds to complete and then as soon as you load the next video it all happens all over again.
 
It might do fine on Vista, but barely, you should get something better for video.
 
I have been playing with video a bit and it doesn't seem to freeze. I have used a couple longer videos (1hour) and a couple short (3 minutes) no issues so far. Now, if I could only get my mixer mapped with my denon hc4500 I would be unstopable!

I'm thinking about a dual boot with XP. I THINK all of the drivers are available. Here's a video of my lappy working with XP.

do you recommend getting a xps m1330 for video mixing? what are your experiences with it so far?
