I Can't Make Up My Mind what would be used best btwn vinyl turntables and cd turntables...

an oldschool local dj's gonna sell me one technics 1200 mkII for $90 so im thinking to go with vinyl turntables...
(the other one has the arm broke)
for starters i'd like to get a mixer while i get used to the 1200 while i make up my mind what other controller i'd need.. either another vinyl turntable or a cd turntable..

what would u pro [hip-hop style] guys recommend.. ?

i've had a long long thought about what controllers to get and imo for "real" hip-hop djing one must have technic 12s BUT...
but i dont mind getting a good minimum direct drive turntable for now...

Wow!!!

If that turntable is in decent working condition grab it up at that price!!!

Also check the other one out too because if the tonearm is the only problem with that unit get it fixed and you'll have a great decent pair of turntables to use.

But you'll need a multi-channel sound card and a couple of timecoded vinyls to get your VDJ to work with the turntables, etc...

All that stuff is useless without a pro copy of the software.
Time code works for five minutes only with the demo version.

a few days ago there was a maya44 usb soundcard on ebay for $50 Buy Now that i let go.

i might be going technics tcv coz im starting out with a $90 1200 technics, what r u using yourself [and why]...


As MP3Rick stated buy a legit Pro Version of VDJ first!!!

Then as for what I'm using with VDJ basically is:

I use two Pioneer CDJ 1000's [Version #01] with Timecoded CDRS and have the following sound card which is $299.00:

Then for the mixing board I use with VDJ, which is $99.00:

WHY? = Works and responds very well for me!!!

But for "hardcore scratching" I would not recommend the above mixer because it is made of plastic, but it can handle the "basics of scratching" well, etc...

My VDJ is running on a P4, 2.4ghz with 3 Gigs of Ram with XP Pro and is "tweaked" for VDJ use, etc...

it depends on what type of collection u have,a lot of vinyl or cds i tried using one record table and one cd table but i was just starting and decided that vdj was the way for me to go
 
As Silent One Love says, if you have a vinyl collection then 1200´s would be a good option, cause you can play with TCV´s and switch to normal records when you like.
I use two 1200´s with an ESI U46 DJ, USB sound card, and works very well with TCV´s.
Start by buying one of the best Dj Software........Virtual Dj pro.... ;).
