Topic: Good Program To Sort Music?

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Just wondering if anybody knows of a good (free) program to sort my music. I currently have Itunes and is a nightmare with VDJ.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks In Advance

In another words, a good way to sort music without using itunes.

Thanks

check out media monkey.

real player 11

i use this on all my media.

they have a free version, but if you want to pay for the premium features, it has advanced cd burning and access to 1000's of internet radio stations...

i have the free version, and it is more than enough to manage my music. once you get the artist, title, etc set, then you can right click and 'change file names'. this will update the ID3 tag, which VDJ5+ will make use of.

you sort your music by making folders for each genre or your favorite party hits etc. Why let a program do it for you. You are the one thats gonna use it for dj use. When you make your own folders, you have more control of your music because you know where to find it. I have over 25 folders and it starts like this......... 80s hits. 80s pop. 90s hits. house. reggae. old school reggae. dance hits 1 dance hits 2

ive seen many different ways of 'sorting' your music...

but i must admit that when i started DJing (years ago) it was all album based.

you had your NOW albums, and your CD singles...

ive kept things like this on my pc so i can type the name of the album and get all the related tracks.

but a lot of djs seperate their music into genres ie. 80's pop, 80's dance, soul, rock, etc

each to their own...

but going back to the original question...

do you want to be able to change your ID3 tags and file names from an easy to use program, or do you want something that will scan your file and categorise your music for you??

ive not seen the 2nd option yet, but if you just want something for free that lets you edit file names and save them into folders of your choice, then Real Player is for you.

try it, its FREE

Anybody know of a good program that will automatically download album art for the songs in your library??

Yes it is mate, download it last week.

Been trying to figure out how to use it. It looks a good little program, what I can make of it. But it goes over my head.

The setup is in German I think, but when loaded up it's in English.

don't bother with it my self, other than looking as a nice piece of eye candy for any punters looking in for me its a waste of space, switch it off - you know it makes sense, hehe

Yes Sir, i spent about 20 hours organizing all my itunes into seperate folders by genre. Got rid of itunes because it sucks, now my VDJ is running smooooooth with no problems.

Thank You guys for all your help!!!!

At first, it takes hours to fix up folders and sort music. Once you have it done, you are strait..... Another good idea to is, make a sub folders inside the folder. for example...... you have a folder called new hip hop. when you click on the new hip hop folder, you make another one inside of it or 2 folders etc . this will be your sessions. I would make session 1 for hip hop in the beggining of a party. Session 2 would be better songs that i would play when i heat up the dance floor. I was looking thru my music and right now i have 40 folders not including subs.

Great Tip,Thanks Caliente for your time and info.

No problem... Now that you have your files pimped out, you will see a difference when you are dj ying. You wont have anymore problems guessing what song to next. Time is precious when you are playing because you dont want to bore the crowd by playing a song for too long. I play songs and change it up every 2 to 3 minutes.
