Strange thing happened. Ver 5.4, (Vista)there is one folder in which all my comments & bpm's are gone.
All other folder are okay. All files are on an external drive.
I have same files on another system with 3.4 windows XP. Internal drive.
Both drives are same letter (E:)
I tried to copy files from 3.4 and put them on the ext drive but comments still don;t show.
The comments are checked on the bullseye, read id3 tags and comments are enabled in the
browser.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can get these comments back in that one folder?

They are two separate database systems. The database was rewritten from v3 to v4 and then again enhanced in v5. Comments are not stored in the folders they are stored in the database file. V3.x database is different. To get any of the version 3.x information (bpm,comments, etc) from that system into a Version 5 environment would require you to UPGRADE the version 3 system to version 5.

I realize what you are saying. When I got the new laptop (vista) I copied my files from other
system which has 3.4 to an external drive
Then I installed 3.4 on the laptop. Copied all the database info onto the laptop.
Everything worked. I then Upgraded to ver 4. Again everything worked.
The I upgraded to ver 5. Again was okay. It was working until today when the folder
lost all coments etc.
What I did was delete 5 from the laptop and went through the whole process again.
I don't want ver 5 on the other system just yet. I just want ver 5 on the laptop.
Reason is because I am losing my files on a random basis. I can't figure if it is a vista thing
or possibly the drive.
Ver 3.4 has been the most stable for me so far and I want to keep it on the main system
until I am sure it will be okay for me.
Anyway so far thing are a bit better. Still a bit quirky though.
In ver 5 some tunes will not play when loaded on the deck,but you can preview them.
Also created shorted to load song from sidelist to deck. Works but it won't delete the song
from the sidelist once it is loaded. Even with security on. It works on my desktop.
Anyway I will keep playing with it.

Okay so now after all that. Quite of my music will not play in VDJ.
However I can preview the track and it will play i winamp, jut not in VDJ.
I recursed, added to search db. Check, clean & fix. Still nothing on most songs.
Anyone have any ideas please??
