......for Virtual DJ, and helping me to become another disabled DJ - I'm not just saying this........ As most of you know, I have a physical disability, cerebral palsy, as my hands have limited dexterity, I use my nose to type 60% of the time. I use my nose to control the VDJ's controls all by the keyboard.....

1. How long have you been involved in DJ'ing & the scene ?

From 1996 my little sister got me into Jungle, my first taste of it was from Rude FM. Absolutely loved it, but
I enjoyed the MC'ing more. Back in those days, radio was my source of music and my inspiration.

2. What are your plans?

To be another top disabled DJ. Maybe also produce my own tracks professionally.

3. How did you get into what you're doing ?

As I have a physical disability, I didn't think I could be a DJ - I have limited dexterity in my hands, so using decks
is an impossible task. However, since PC's have become a part of society, this would enable me to become a DJ. Now,
I use the PC as my decks, mixer and my audience. I'm still fairly new to DeeJaying, so I've a lot yet to learn.

4. Who or what inspired you to want to be a DJ?

Well, I always wanted to be a MC, but what with not being able to talk....er..yeah, it'll be impossible lol. I have
loads of lyrics in my head though.
DJ'ing, well, I inspired myself really - for the simple fact that I have over come other obstacles in my life. These days you
can do anything with a PC, so I found Virtual DJ, ands it went from there. Other DJ's have praised me on my
mixing, and have told me to continue my dream - and I am!

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Er, married? lol Not sure really. My ultimate goal is to play in clubs, but we will have to see if it'll happen - I hate laptops lol

So yeah, thanks a lot Atomix, & if I can help in any way, please contact me.

Regards,

Dude your a legend.. you got some serious skills. Glad to have you onboard with this community!

i've heard other dj's (myself included) sometimes complain about things on the job when they feel sick, or hurt, or tired and then in my case i think about your video i watched on youtube and i just shut the f*ck up and keep on going.
i've known some that have CP, and they never really did anything but sit in a chair and expect people to do things for them. somethings are necessary, but definitly not the mixing - those are your skills and your mind hard at work and i can tell you - you mixed those beats better than i could.

inspiring doesnt even begin to cover it.

Yesterday my hero at the end of the day was ms. Bhutto but today its you bro, am proud to be of the same species as you are and may the God of your choice bless ya....a whole heap a dem!
CNN Hero anyone???

Never under estimate people dealing with disabilities.
Most have more determination than most of us can comprehend.
Motor skills are something that most of us take for granted.
Having worked with the severely physically and mentally disabled, I have a high regard for people and the power to overcome disabilities.

One memorable thread was this guy who mixed with his feet, he had no arms.
Thats right, his feet, and with Cds!
Opened his cd album, flipped the pages, pulled out the cd, loaded it, cued it and so on WITH HIS FEET!!
Even lit a cigarette with his feet like it was nothing, try it sometime.

This is the thread, but the video link seems to be dead now.

I imagine being severely disabled can be pretty lonely, so I am really glad that we have welcomed Peter into our group here, he is pretty amazing as you can see.

Peter, Rune (dj Norway) is working on the banner for you for the website, got your message.

Rock on dude, you have new friends here.

Great to have you here Pedster.
That's very inspiring - looking forward to watching you learn and grow as a DJ.

I've been heavily invested in computer DJing since it was a pretty new concept and that's actually how I started out myself - the oldschool DJs or purists always love to shoot down computer DJing, but this is one example of how such technology can be empowering and liberating. I always loved how using software like VDJ let me mix just as good as traditional means in less time so I had more time to flirt with girls, get drinks, etc, but this is a very powerful example of how the paradigm shift can be truly revolutionary - to allow someone who couldn't physically DJ traditionally to actually become rather good at it.

DJ Pedster,

You are amazing guy and you have my up most respect.

Keep Spinning dude.

Thanks Rune for a great statement, easier to just quote you then type all those words LOL. I couldn't agree more. I've also seen your videos and visited your site. You are an inspiration. I have a nephew in a similar place as you. Maybe our paths will cross someday. Keep spinnin'

My new video.......

The sound of the mix is crap, I used the wrong codec when I screen-captured tsk.

Songs
Dangerous (Vocal version)
Sorry Part 2
Heartache (remix)

Yes you did use the incorrect codec

I had to stop listening unfortunatly - the sound got to me.

Mind you - I do like the way you have the scrolling text across the screen describing the keyboard shortcuts you use.

How I Use VirtyalDJ 2nd Try - Jungle

Yes, I took my own advice and recorded to mp3 seperately

Songs:
No Diggity
6 Million (Ways To Die)
Incredible
Orginal Nuttah

Enjoy

Much Better!!!!!

I enjoyed that. Nicely Done
