Yes, this is a biased argument. You use the title A vs. B where you are in favor of A and say B cannot do this, but you refrain from making any analysis beyond two sentances of mentioning why B cant do it. You also dont mention anything at all of what B can do that A cannot, and that list is quite long, even for video.

For your premise to be fair, you should have refrained from mentioning B entirely. In the fallacies of argument, you can call it a Red Herring.

I dont find the post to be bad, but feel sad that you did it in such a way because you dont do any justice to VDJ, which you say you like and have used. From an outsiders point-of-view, you are unecessarily dissing VDJ when you mean well, and just want to provide a perspective about the new Serato plugin. No problems there, but your argument's construction is unfair and not properly balance.

If I was grading your essay on this as a A vs. B argument, you'd fail. Had you you refrained from mentioning VDJ completely, you'd get an A.

Its a shame you dont find VDJ up to par, maybe you arent using the right gear. I tested on my turntablist friends and they like VDJ hands down with the right gear and knowledge how to set it up. Since VDJ supports the OEM hardware market I highly doubt your statement of 'trying everything' is anything but a gross over-exaggeration.

Ok I'll agree with you Paz after looking back at it your right it was bias but only because I've not been able to get VDJ to work the way I wanted to too all this time. So was I excited
when Serato Video finally worked? Hell yeah I was. Super happy. I wanted every like me to see that where I had failed to make VDJ perform the way I wanted too, Serato was doing it.
So yeah I was happy I was finally able to do video to my standards. Just so I'm clear my standards were based on the control. Me being able to do certain scratches like fast chirps etc. with Serato
they have always sounded sloppy on VDJ for me. When I plugged in serato and I was able to bust out all my scratches I wanted everyone else to see it to. Now I don't want you guys to think I'm just a
Scratch DJ cause I'm not I consider myself "A DJ FOR WOMEN" but scratches can get fit in here and there. Its part of my style. scratching Madonna is a good time. Lol I'm not back

No worries, Steel, your video simply showed the "new guy on town" what what tricks he could do.. Why get excited and defensive over that? beats me...

Competition DOES make both better, and it IS healthy... Showing VDJ features for Serato, and Serato features for VDJ, will only open eyes for thing one might choose to implement or change..

Lookin forwards to that vid Steel, and glad you are back having fun like a kid on Xmas eve, mixin them videos ;)

I honestly don't care about what you think of me and the so called "twisting" of your exact words. What I do care about is that VDJ is represented right and fair in a side by side comparison with Serato's new video capabilities. Just because you haven't been able to get VDJ to work to its full potential for your needs doesn't mean it's not capable of doing it. There are several long time and even new users here who have great experiences here with VDJ including those scratch/club dj's who need to have this product working 100% + .... like me. Scratch/club dj's need it to respond fast enough for the intricate scratches in high intensity shows. There are actually several videos on youtube with demos on VDJ doing just that. I never really got final scratch to work correctly for me and my needs but that doesn't mean it doesn't work for others. I am glad Serato works for you and sorry VDJ doesn't. However your experience is your experience and I have a more positive experience with VDJ.

I at one point used Serato and thought it was great but there were several complaints I had about it. It was my journey to find a better product that works for me and felt more at home on this mainly positive forum filled with other users who are ready to help out ANYONE with difficulty they're having. It happens with Serato too. No one technology or user is perfect.

I guess it's original, although some what childish. It's also very easy to say on a forum, when you are not face to face, to the person you are talking to.


The spell checker came back with DoucheBaggery, so there goes the originality part. Damn I learn something new everyday.

New Youtube video featuring Serato video. This one is cool cause its done over a green screen and I recorded the set and played it back over the top. Oh and I don't mention VDJ so
it's not a comparison.

let this thread be an example of how a critical argument can be constructive and above the board. you see unecessary posts which only defame steel's quite valid efforts and of course he will become defensive. formulate a criticism that doesnt treat him like an asshole and he will respond kindly. it's blatantly unecessary to use insults against a person. everyone has a right to opinion and deserves the right to announce it. thats what is called freedom of the press. you also have the right to disagree, but you're only acting like a wanker and should be treated like one if you can only come up with negativity to counter the argument. ad hominem (attack against the person and not the argument) is just immature and sad.
