Hello,
Any suggestions to get me started in the right direction for mixing a 90 or so PBM acappella hip hop track over a 128 BPM house track. Started to practice that but finding it quite difficult to get it synced properly and matched well.
Just some pointers to get me straight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rich
P.S. Tried the proper forum but not much going on there!

Its a little too big of a BPM gap from my experience, try keeping the BPM difference to under 3% and you should be OK..... try looking at this http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/5408/Mix_lessons/BPM___MIXING_GUIDE_(for_hip_hop__rnb_and_many_other_genres).html

i dunno about that - as long as the acapella sounds ok and the rhymes arent to fast - ive mixed gin and juice snoop dogg with pictures sneaky soundsystem at 124bpm and it sounds ok.
u really have to know the songs really well to mix in acapella especially rap and hiphop because different performers have a different flow and some time double time . this means u can mix kiss kiss - chris brown or ayo technology with house music e.g. i have made a mix with destination calabria and kiss kiss + ayo.
practice makes perfect.
try different things at home first before the club but dont be scared to take a risk with two songs that wouldnt usually go together. i dj at a club that will have a variety of people - therefore a variety of different music tastes. mixing hiphop and house together can sometimes keep both camps happy! but only if it sounds mean!
also before mixing acapella - practice by mixing the actual songs together - this can help match the beats
