Topic: Napster not working - Page: 1

I can't connect to Napster.
Does Napser need to be running?
I enter my login and password (by right clicking Napster in the broser within Virtual DJ), and nothing happens.
When I try to search for something I get nothing.
I have a Napster acount and it is active and working.
I am using Windows Vista and Virtual DJ 5 rev. 2
My computer is new, fast, and fully loaded.

Please HELP

hum.. might be a bug

Dont have napster account so cant test, but hopefully someone at the forum do, and can verify if it is or not
 
It is apparently a bug connecting to napster. We had threads on this subject in the pc version technical support section and the bug reports section of the forums. Myself (using winxp and rev.2), and several others have come forward with the problem. I hope this gets fixed soon, but in the meantime we can run the napster software while running VDJ, It takes a bit of minimising VDJ to go oiver the napster searches this way, but I haven't had any real performance issues because of it. Still, would be great to do it all with just VDJ;^]

Its a bug, but I dont think it is VDJs bug I think they changed somethin over there as 4.3 doesnt work anymore either
 
join the club. I have never got this to work with vdj correctly. Even with xp...so i doubt its a vista thing. Whats funny is that it reconizes vdj as a completely different computer (napster only allows three pc for the same user).

But either way I never got past searching the napster database. All downloads I would try to download......would fail.

Nah I only use 2 pcs for napster....I have 1 slot open. So when I was testing it added a thrid. But after never getting it to worl I just deleted it.
 
But what I am saying is VDJ should get into contact with someone from Napster and find out why it activates a different computer account from the one that is on the machine. If you already have that machine activated through Napster it should use that login.

O brian. I dont really care about that...as long if it worked. Its pretty pimp to login & dl on the fly.

So y have this feature in vdj if it doesn't work?
 
That may very well be the reason it isnt working if you know what I mean. I think they changed something (Napster) and now it doesnt work on any version. I liked it too on the fly:)
 
well me i have an account . vdj finds the songs on napster ok when i load the song it ask for the login name and password i type it in .it tells me that i have the wrong password. but yet i use the same name and password .on the napster and it logs in fine .can i get help with that
 

It has been reported to the dev team, and they know about it, videoman and hopefully in the next Update/revision it will work.

yea thanks i called napster about the problem. first they where rude second they told me strait up forword that they dont support vdj and i told them yea.ok how about a refund mother.,.... and they gave me full refund lol .i dont know why vdj has them on there software .they should put rapsody. on ther software great customer support.
 
I wouldnt have dropped the subscription to Napster, you can still download and play the songs you just have to use Napster to do the downloads. I can run both, minimize VDJ download what I want and as soon as it is done just go to the folder and Add to Search Database. But I know what you mean it would be cool if it worked properly.
 
yea i compard napster and rapsody rapsody kicks its butt 100 percent rapsody has alot more searches than napster .

Does your Napster account work outside of VDJ, if you know what I mean. When it is accessed just on your Desktop, if it is it's a fault with VDJ I think.
