Topic: XP10 Asio driver & Midi mapper

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

VDJ V4.3 has inbuild support for the XP10 controller. You configure in soundsetup USB loudspeaker and in remote control you enable the xp -controller. That works fine.
However i noticed on the EKS website there is a driver update pack e.g a xp10 midi mapper and asio driver. See http://eks.fi/index.php?page=uutissivu&siirtyma=0&from=0
Installed it however i cannot enable the asio driver in soundetup of VDJ when i select xp10, it hangs VDJ application (CTRL + Alt + Del is the only way out).

1. Anyone succesfull in making ASIO XP10 driver work?
If yes is the only advantage (shorter) delay or is there also soundquality improvement compared to the standard USB loudspeaker?

2. Anyone successfull in enabling XP10 MIDI Mapper?
So you can map all keys on the xp10 (in VDJ the buttons Eject and Playlist cannot be changed, they are fixed to shift 1 and 2).
Also i have not been able with the inbuild VDJ XP10 mapper to use the weel for browsing in the mp3 numbers at the not playing desk (like you can do with BCD2000).

Anybody have experience yet with the ASIO drivers for XP-10s? Any differences in performance, sound quality, or cpu usage?

Some Italian guys have tested and ASIO driver doesn't work with Virtual DJ but this package is not necessary for Virtual DJ, the native midi support and the WDM driver work already perfect with Virtual DJ ;)

So it doesn't work, or isn't necessary? I am happy with the WDM performance, but if the ASIO is better I would switch.

ASIO isn't better, it is faster and good to use for Timecode. WDM might have better quality, depends on the drivers and sound card.

I joust bought 2 XP10 and I test them with both Traktor & VDJ.

As Controllers:
In VDJ they work perfect but the jog pitch bender is very sensitive.
In Traktor I managed to make the sensitivity better but, the midi messages make conflicts with the midi messages of my BCD2000. So I have difficulties in using them simultaneously.

As Sound Card:
In Traktor when I load XP10 ASIO program crushes.
Same happens in VDJ.

By the way:
How can I make XP10 work as sound card in VDJ?
When I go to Settings - Sound Setup in Sound Cards I cannot see USB loudspeakers.
Only ASIO, 4.1 sound card, 2 sound cards, Mono (separated), BCD2000.

You should set it as "2 Sound Cards" and "External Mixer".
Try to use Asio4All drivers www.asio4all.com
You can map the sensitivity of the jogs by using mapper or Midi shortcuts tab. For Mapper, you need to be a Pro user.

I am going to purchase VDJ as soon as possible.
But before that I want to be sure.
At the present I use as Mixer controller my BCD2000.
Two more questions:
1) Why should I use Asio4All?

2)I didn't know that the there is a XP10 mapper apart from the inbuilt mapper.
The inbuilt mapper allows you to change the sensitivity ONLY for the Scratch Wheel (Centre).
The Pitch Bend Wheel (peripheral) cannot be mapped.
Thanks in advanced.

Hi George, You would need the ASIO only if you are going to use your BCD2000's soundcard. There are also mappers available made by liscenced users of VDJ. So grab a liscence and start having fun in Greece!

Thanks Terry.
As you know I am a 6-year licensed Traktor user (since 2001).
The problem is that I want to be sure before purchasing a 300 euros software.
In Download - Plugins - External Tools section I didn't find anything about XP10.
Are you sure that the mapper exist?
XP10 works great with VDJ AND Simultaneously with BCD2000 for Mix controls (faders, equalizers etc) but the Pitch Bend Jog Wheel is very sensitive, and beatmix is a little bit difficult.

On the other hand in Traktor you can control sensitivity, but I have Midi conflicts with BCD2000. I am sure that this problem will be resolved with the EKS support (I communicate with them) but if the mapper gives you the ability to control all features of XP10 I will purchase for it.

Maybe the licensed VDJ will be the gift for my birthday (3rd July) and the XP10 will be used in my party :)
Greetings and thanks

(Additional)
By the way:

BCD2000 has ASIO drivers. Why do you need asio4all?

XP10 works in VDJ without ASIO support :)

Greetings

I'm not sure what the difference is George but I do know that my BCD tended to freeze a lot less with the ASIO4All Drivers. I am not sure about your XP10 questions. Sorry, Search the blogs.. I cant remember his name but one of the guys (In Spain I think) uses his BCD and loves it so he set up a tutorial on how to get the best performance out of it. Nice hearing from you again buy the way George...

Me too Terry (happy hearing from you again).
I also love my bcd and I want to use it simultaneously with my xp10.
Maybe asioforall is a good solution for xp10 asio crushes in traktor.

BCD2000 works great in my PC as a souncard.
Maybe depends on the system configuration (not power).

Be back soon.

Try using the outside rim of the wheel - The metal part is touch-sensitive and stops the music for scratching. Turn the wheel slowly by the outside edge and you will get a very fine pitchbend.

The mapper for the XP10 is built into VDJ - Go to Config -> Remote Control and click on the Mapper button in the XP10 section.

hi there i have the xp5's and they now work with virtual i mapper out every key but i only have one problem, the scratching. I really try very hard i dont know what value to use or let it be relative or absolute and also the intesitiy. i need it to be just like the scratching of an xp 10 someone please help. when I complete the Xp5 coniguration i willl surely upload it for other users thanks again...
