in the image you selected the same driver twice this would cause an issue
or was that for demonstation purposes pardon me if so.

Yes that was for demo purposes. In my issue I chose driver1 = Hercules USB sound card
and
driver2 = internal speaker.
This is on an Intel IMAC core 2 duo.
10.4.9 os.
This is easily reproducable and I cant find a work around to using 2 sound cards.

You need to make the latency higher for the mk2

To understand:
2 sound cards will need (have) more latency than the use of one 4.1 sound card
That's why it's better to use a 4.1 sound card instead of 2 sound cards

I'm getting the same problem. I'm using a USB soundcard and my internal card on my mac. I tried changing the presets in the latency in the config but it doesnt help. Some settings will either make the buzzing worse of just cut off the sound all together or just crash the program.

Sorry for digging this thread out, but is there a solution yet?

Hello Gleschnapi,
The problem mentionned appears when you use 2 sound cards set at a different sampling rate in Mac OS, for example a 48KHz USB sound card with a 44.1KHz internal sound card.
You must set both sound card on the same sampling rate, and the problem disappears.
To chose the sampling rate of a sound card in Mac OS, go to Applications > Utilities > Audio & MIDI setup, edit the properties of each sound card and choose the same sampling rate for both sound cards.

should it work, when both cards are on 48KHz??

Hi, I seem to be having exactly the same problem as Gleschnapi. I am using the motu traveler soundcard which works fine with other apps (eg logic) or when Virtual dj is set up with single output.
All the drivers are the latest, I'm on 10.5.8, even with the the sample rate settings at both 44 or 48 the static noise appears.
I tried changing the latency and performance settings but either the static noise changes frequency or vdj stops altogether.
My motu traveler interface is firewire, could this be an issue?

my next problem is that i cant change the soundcard's sampler rate to 44,1KHz because is was a such a cheap one...
but when i turn the internal sound to 44,1KHz then the noise is away...

Hello Gleschnapi,
It should be OK if both the internal sound card and the external sound card are set on the same saampling rate, so it can be good with both sound cards set at 44.1KHz and it can be good with both sound cards set at 48KHz.

Please don't bump an old topic that is over 1 year old.
You should ideally set both to 44.1Khz 16-bit - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20Mac%20Performance%20Issues.html
