In ver 3.4 in the video setting there is an option "When no video/ karaoke is available show black/bitmap/visual plug-in
But in ver 4.2 if I choose to play slideshow or any other effect it will not turn off automatically if the song is have video. There is a setting for this?

You need to type slideshow in under the video settings. When no video use: Actually I don't remember if you had to type it in or if it was a drop down, but that is where you need to do it for it to turn on and off.
