Topic: Fellow Guitarist/ Bassists, Recording With Amplitude?

I'm looking a couple months down the road to get some real time guitar/ bass modeling/ effects for recording. I have a few now, atti- tube and some others which came with various hardware purchases. The problem with those, on Sonar 4 I can't get the effects for diect monitoring, I can only apply them after I've made the recording. I've also got the digitech GNX3, but when I tryed running that through my board and into my PC the sound gets all clicky and nasty sounding.

So I was thinking about purchasing this http://www.stealthplug.com/Main.php?prod-SP.php for the Amplitude 2 live software. Has anybody tryed recording using this software? Is it worth the money or should I instead save up more to buy something like m-audio black box? I'm recording my guitar through my behringer ub1222fx- pro main mixer, soon to be into a delta 1010lt card using Sonar 4 Producer Edition;^]

guitar rig is amazing and (correct me if im wrong) you can use it as a VST.
 
I looked at that, bit outside of my price range though. I'm starting to think maybe I'd be better to get the digitech rp350 instead of the stealth plug, I've always been satisfied with digitechs sound (I've used the RP1, the rp20 and currently the gnx3) and this ones got a USB port for recording and effects editing. Only bad thing is it probably won't work for my bass, but the bass seems to do well recording in my present configuration since I rarely use effects for it. I'd really like to get the POD XT Live, but I have to figure out a solution for under $200. Would there be any advantages to using a VST rather than a unit like the rp350? I know the best results really come with micing the cabs properly, and when I'm recording others that's what I do, but since I have to work on my personal stuff at nights I need to do it directly;^]
