Ever since i upgraded to V 4.1/4.2, when i listen back to my recorded mixes, i can hear a sound in the background, kinda like the sound you hear on a mobile phone when someone is talking to you in a windy place. Any suggestions?

I had something much like this before, it was caused by having my recording options set incorrectly.

Open your Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices.

Then click the "Advanced..." button

You should get your "Volume Control" panel on screen.

Click Options > Properties...

Then click the dot next to "Recording", select everything that shows up in the bottom box and hit okay.

This will change the panel to show what is being recorded. Make sure what your recording is either the Line In (from external mixer) or Wave Out Mix, however, using Wave Out Mix will record any other noises your PC makes at this time.

----------------------------------- Option 2 ---

If that above didn't work, I had noticed I could hear much the same noise you described through my headphones, which turned out to be some random noise that was made whilst files were accessed. This was caused by an external drive. Of which I have no idea how it happened. Changed the drive = Problem Gone.
