Topic: MK2 and external cd

Hi Guys

Plugged an external cd polayer to my MK2 it plays fine but get lots of static on th CD player......sounds like Distortion cuased by peaking?

Any Ideas????

the MK2's RCA inputs are not rated for higher line level inputs. they'll work fine with consumer level cd players (aka try a walkman or soemthing and it'll work fine)

the actual number can be found on the hercules site, but i think it's something like -10dbu is what the inputs are ready for
 
which model cd players?

many clubs here use the mk2 with cd players

and many use them with timecoded cds

so its working for some
 
I am using a DVD player.....Consumer?????

try turning down the volume on the player

and boost it on vdj
 
Hey I had the same problem at first as well... I fixed it by switching the black switch (in the back of the mk2) from phono in to line in
