i currently use a maya44 but was wondering about the u46dj as its always mentioned as the prefered card to get on this forum.is there any difference between the two besides the u46 having 6 outs over the maya having 4 and the maya not being made no more? is there a difference in the sound..latency..just curious.

wow; whats up with soundcard companies?... oh yea ..vista..lol.new os means new drivers for old software/hardware .
well in that case disregard this post heheh.. no need for two discontinued soundcards. lol(just hope my maya keeps going strong till i can find a good back up card or replacement )

mostly fine
one possible issue is
Graphics AGP 4x and 3D Architecture, MPEG2 and DVD playback, standard 64MB shared w/256MB or more main memory, configurable up to 64MB
share graphics relys on your ram
so this can slow it down
possibly a ram upgrade could fix this
but if you can get the card changed
a larger dedicated one would give you better results :)

the video card? i maxed out the ram :( it only holds 1gb..

There are far better soundcards then u46dj on the market. It all depends on your budget.

@skyfxl: will do ..gonna call hp...that dell is way too old but its been working flawless xcept with the sonique plug ..i can do exerything else with no problem (just @ minimum performance setting :(
