I was just looking through some websites and stumbled onto a couple that discuss windows services that are not needed, but are probably running and using up your system resources. I am in no way saying that you should make these changes to your system, but if you are trying to get every ounce of performance out of your system, then you might want to read through these and make your own decisions on what you can do without.
