well this topic is mainly for Karaoke host but anyone who has had a run in with these people please Post
seems like Ascap is going around all karaoke bars and telling them they need a license just to have karaoke there......not counting my license...has anyone had a run in with them yet?

In France, we have an equivalent system called "SACEM" and yes they punish bad guys ;-)

funny thing is there not bothering me....just telling the bars that in order for people to sing karaoke songs they need a ascap license but when i bought the cdg's what happen then?

Here in the US if you own an establishment and intend to play music (jukebox, videos, karaokee, etc...) you need to have an ACAP license. You the DJ doesn't need to worry about this, its all on the establishment where YOU are performing.

that's ashame they try to make money wherever they can...lol are they gonna charge my 2 year old for singing around the house
