what does the vinyl ripping program do?

As the name says, it's for RIP your Vinyls.

Helps to rip them from the line input of the soundcard.
If you press CONFIG you can setup:
- Wich soundcard to use
- Wich GAIN to do.
- What time of SILENCE to wait before AUTOSTOP
- A bit of PREAMP

You can also select AUTOSTART, so it starts to RECORD when the sound starts, and AUTOSTOP, so it stops to RECORD after the time you config on SILENCE.

Then you generate a MP3 file.
 
so you can make mp3s out of other vinyl that you have?

That's the idea.

It's a tool to help do it, better than an usual record software.
