i have a proper tcv setup with a u46dj soundcard , and stanton st 100 turntables, they have both line and phono out, the problem is that the quality reading of the tcvs is all over the place, mean while when i plug in my mp3 player with a tcv recording into the turntable, it is read as 100 percent. There fore the quality problem is narrowed down to my turntables pickup of the signal. Why am i not getting a high and steady reading is puzzling. Im using stanton trackmaster rs style and carts. They are top notch. Im wondering how to go about fixing the problem, is it possible for the turntable/needle to put out too high of an output for vdj? because with all the inputs at 0db its still a very strong signal and the gain setting in vdj auto configures itself to very slight vol.
