Topic: a REAL unicode support

I have errors with files named with unicode (like japanese characters) and special characters (like ♥♫→ and others) and the ID3 Tag wrote in japanese too. VDJ v2.0 and up "support unicode", but don't read my files. Please correct this problem. Thanks.

I would also like this feature to be really implemented. In my case I am waiting for full Unicode support in order to develop translations to a couple of additional languages (including, but not limited to, Esperanto, which uses Unicode UTF-8). Many thanks in advance for any info on this matter.
 
very important point
this is the only reason why i hesitated to buy vdj right away
and also another reason why i can not recommend vdj to my korean dj friends
not a "big" deal for me,
because i don't play that much korean tunes
still would love to see this little "bug"(?) being fixed

it shows all my korean mp3s right
including chinese characters, too
but can't switch to korean when i make a search
tried out everything
it works with the comments
but not with the search
it just stays in english

the only way is to write something out of vdj, note pad etc...
copy it
and paste it into vdj's search panel

pleeeeeaaaaaaase look after this
 
actually it is also crucial if we want the product to make it into the JAPANESE MARKET.
 
Search the forum how to change the browser font in the skin's xml file.
At least this workaround is working for greek characters.
 
lil update on this
i haven't been trying to type korean in the search window for a while
so, i don't know since which version it changed, sorry

in the past after i switched to korean (right alt key)
i couldn't write anything at all
i'll type and nothing will be displayed
just a blinking cursor...

now,
korean characters are displayed,
but something totally different
not making any sense... :-(

just to let you guys know...

It's because VirtualDJ v6.x now supports Unicode.

Can you post here a screenshot of what you see.

thank you so much for the attention

this topic has been "left behind" for a long time
can't remember any other programs that haven't support korean
and i use a lot of different kind of programs

anyway,
i'll be away for a few days
i'll try to make a lil video when i return
round next week

just checked again...
interesting...
depending on which folder(incl. virtual & favorite) on the left panel i select,
the "search" will type/display the korean characters right or wrong

i made it a habit not to use korean folder names


by the way...
if i switch to korean(right alt next to space)
and type something in search
a little window pops up in the upper left corner
not sure, but i think it's window's IME
as i remember, i only have seen this happening in some of the older programs

still working on making a video...
i guess you guys need a screen videocapture with a keyboard videocapture, right ?
please let know what exactly

yes please because we don't have the same systems here so we can't reproduce exactly what you are describing.
 
ok...
spend a lil bit more time on this last night
i switched folders a few times
everytime i tried to search something in korean
and suddenly after a few tries
it works

tried to reproduce, but couldn't...
in the beginning i thought only the folders without subfolders would work
but i was wrong...
then i tried folders with korean files inside and without
nope...

i try to post a video of it by today
