Topic: Working with video on Mac
On Macos Sequioa when i use vdj for any video activity(karaoke , just any video in general)it seemingly forces fullscreen mode on both displays and therefore hides dock on both. Is there any setting to force fullscreen behaviour only on 2nd display, leaving dock on the main one (MacBook 's display?). Vdj itself s NOT in fullscreen mode and when i turn off video everything returns to normal.

I asked the same thing and it's not possible. Using video output on Mac is just strange.
 
That's kinda strange. I'm pretty sure that Propresenter and even VLC can do this no prob...Is there really no workaround for this issue?
 
Do you have the displays organized as separate spaces or no? If not, could you check if enabling that solves the problem?
 
I messed about with every setting possible but it still happens. Enabling video output automatically hides the toolbar and dock.
 
I quickly tried it with an HDMI out capture of the other screen...it does hide the dock on both screens, but only the desktop that has VirtualDJ on it - switching to another desktop on the MacBook seems to allow the dock to show. Also if seems for me that the fullscreen status of VirtualDJ is unaffecteded.
 
I got screens organised as separate spaces but it doesn't affect much. You can get dock to show if you use command tab, or for example, "show view options". I.e. reason for this behaviour is that VDJ makes itself fullscreen on both monitors for some reason.
 
So I don't think it always fullscreens VirtualDJ because in my case I deliberately made VirtualDJ not maxmized then sent the video output to the other display, and VirtualDJ's maximization status remained unchanged. I wasn't able to access the dock though.
 
I mean VDJ skin remains whatever it was before playing video, but i think video plugin itself makes Macos think it's in fullscreen on both displays
 
That's probably true.
 
Hopefully Adion or someone else from VDJ's technical staff will shed some light on this mystery. Right now workaround is to have open folder in finder/ open Ableton live or other app, and command tab to that. It won't interrupt anything on 2nd display. You can access apps on the dock and even work with any of them) However if you'll click somewhere on desktop it will remove from second display and remove vdj from the first one. You can recall anything by simply clicking on VDJ icon in dock, but man... I would definitely like for things to be much simpler )
